Start early in the morning, visiting the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia, the place that first Olympic Games took place in 776 B.C., lies in the lush valley formed by the Alfios River. There is a temple of Zeus the most celebrated sanctuary of ancient Greece. Dedicated to Zeus which in antiquity was housing one of the 7 wonders of the Ancient world, the gold and ivory statue of Zeus, which Phedias had created. Then visit the temple of Hera, the shrine of Pelops (one of the oldest in the sanctuary), the Council house where the athletes took the Olympic oath, the Treasury houses, the Gymnasium and the Palestra where they used to exercise for a month prior to the Games. Finally come to the stadium, where the marble starting blocks are still in position. Although secluded near the west coast of the Peloponnese, Olympia became the most important religious and athletic center in Greece. After sightseeing in Olympia, we go ahead to Kyllini Port to take the ferry to reach Zakynthos port. Check in at your hotel and then day at leisure. After your rest you can explore the center of Zakynthos and to have a dinner at a traditional tavernas. Overnight in Zakynthos.

Day 4

Group Cruise to Blue Caves & Shipwreck

After your breakfast our driver transfer you from your hotel to Zakynthos Marina to take the local boat cruise as is one of the best ways to explore the island. Our first stop is the Blue Caves. Here the rays of sun hit the water and it changes color. These caves have a magical turquoise shade that changes into emerald green. Our next stop is the Shipwreck. This beach is well known throughout the world. When entering the cove, the beauty it beholds is breathtaking. The waters here are clear blue but deep. We spend 1 1/2 hours here in order to enjoy your swim. Our program continues with a 10 min photo stop at Porto Vromi, then our boat pulls up next to the Agalas Caves and the Keri Caves for a reasonable amount of time to admire the beauty of nature. A big photo stop includes the Turtle Island. The whole gulf of Laganas and Kalamaki are full of turtles swimming in the seawater. The Turtles are huge but so friendly and you can swim together. Our other major swim stop is in the area of St Nickolas, Basilikos where the boat anchors for about an hour. In the afternoon we will return at Marina and our driver transfer you back to your hotel. Zakynthos - Cog Railway - Cave of Lakes - Village of Dimitsana

After your breakfast, we will take the ferry from Zakynthos Port to Kyllini Port and continue our journey to Diakofto. From there, you will board the Cog Railway (Odontotos), which connects Diakofto with Kalavrita, passing through the breathtaking Vouraikos Canyon. This charming little train winds its way through streams, tunnels, waterfalls, and steep cliffs, offering stunning views of pine and oleander forests.

Our driver will meet you in Kalavrita to continue the tour to the mysterious and magnificent Cave of the Lakes—a rare natural wonder. The cave features 13 stunning lakes, each with unique colors due to the minerals in the rock formations. As you explore, you will witness the hanging bridge, cascading waterfalls, and experience the feeling of walking on a floating corridor.

Our day ends in the beautiful and historic village of Dimitsana. After check-in, you can enjoy a wonderful walking tour through its charming narrow streets, immersing yourself in its rich history, admiring its beautiful architecture, and discovering historical landmarks.

The resident monks often welcome visitors and share insights about monastic life and the site's history.
