5 Days Tanzania Photographic Safari

After breakfast at your lodge, your driver-guide will pick you up and head to Serengeti National Park. This is one of Tanzania’s most famous parks. Great herds of wildebeest, buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, topi, zebra, impala, and Grant’s gazelle are residents at any time of the year. Lions and leopards are easily seen all-year-round in Central Serengeti. You will enjoy a late afternoon game drive in the park. Later in the evening, you will drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Kisura Luxury Tented Camp or Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp

Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti plains (available by arrangement at a supplementary cost). Float silently above the awakening bush while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa across rivers and over numerous small villages.

Afterward, we have breakfast and a full-day game drive with a bush lunch inside the park. We will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai kopjes, which usually attract a number of lions and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink! Return for dinner and your overnight stay at Kisura Luxury Tented Camp or Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp

After breakfast, you will travel back to the adventurous trail that takes you into the Ngorongoro Crater. Grass steppes and acacia forests are home to almost all of the species of animals found in the East African savannah. Only a few hours' drive from Serengeti National Park, you will have the chance of spotting the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros and leopard. After extensive game viewing and a picnic in the crater, you will leave the highlands of Ngorongoro in the afternoon and travel back to Karatu. You will spend a night at Farm of Dreams Lodge (mid-range accommodation).

After breakfast at your lodge, you will start your safari at 8:00 am, as we drive from Karatu town to Lake Manyara with a picnic bush lunch. We enter the majestic Lake Manyara National Park and embark on the last of the 5-day Tanzanian safari. This small park is sandwiched between the Rift Valley escarpment and the large soda lake, Lake Manyara. It is a pretty location with a variety of game, including giraffe, elephant, baboon and the rarely seen tree-climbing lion. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha town for your overnight stay at a hotel by your own arrangement.
