This tour promises an unforgettable journey, with stops in Kathmandu, Lhasa, and Paro, Bhutan. Set out on an adventure to discover the three nations' distinct lifestyles and cultural tapestries.

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal! As you arrive, an Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representative will welcome you at the airport with your nameplate. Then, you will be immediately transferred to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, you will pass by the Open Cremation Place (Pashupatinath temple), the Royal Palace Museum, i.e., Narayanhity, and the Garden of Dreams before you reach Thamel. Your hotel will be downtown at the tourist hub. Our representative will facilitate and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the streets of Thamel.

Day 2

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up, along with the driver and vehicle. First, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can see common wood-carved temples and buildings from ancient Kathmandu city. We will then proceed to Swyambhunath, the Monkey Temple, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of Kathmandu.

Then you'll go to the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus in Southeast Asia. You will explore the surroundings and observe the Hindus' ritual body cremation ceremony.

Finally, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The stupa, built in 600 A.D., is the world's only stupa that reflects Buddhism. We will investigate the surroundings of Boudhanath Stupa. After we've completed our sightseeing, you can return to your hotel and sit back and rest.

Day 3

Flying to Lhasa

On the third day of the Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan Highlights Tour, you will take a flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA), our dedicated Tibet agent will greet you and arrange a private vehicle transfer to the hotel. Lhasa, located along the northern banks of the Kyi-Chu River, has a mystical appeal, with the name meaning "Place of the Gods" in Tibetan. Spend the rest of the day adjusting your body to the higher altitude, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey ahead.

Day 4

Sightseeing in Lhasa

After breakfast, we will start exploring Lhasa. First, we will visit the stunning Potala (Winter Palace) and Norbulingka Palaces (Summer Palace). Potala Palace, built in the 17th century, offers stunning views of the entire city. The Dalai Lama's houses and private quarters are fascinating to explore. Norbulingka Palace houses Tibet's largest man-made garden.

Next, we will go to the Tibet Traditional Hospital. It serves as a center for Tibetan medicine treatment, training, research, and production.

Day 5

Sightseeing in Lhasa

After breakfast, we plan to visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Bazaar. Drepung Monastery, constructed in the 14th century, is the world's largest monastery. It is thought to have housed approximately 10,000 monks in the past. However, there has been a significant decline in recent years, with only a few hundred remaining.This magnificent monastery contains plenty of information about Tibetan history and religious beliefs. Sera Monastery is a well-preserved monastery with whitewashed walls and golden roofs. Monk debating, which takes place from 3-5 p.m. every day except Sundays, is the monastery's main attraction.


Jokhang Temple is another significant religious site in Tibet. It reveals the deep mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism. Inside, you can see a statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. We continue walking through Barkhor Bazaar (the market) with its open-air stalls, shops, and crowds of pilgrims.

Day 6

Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse (3900m) (5-6 hours)

On the sixth day of the Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan Highlights Tour, you'll travel from Lhasa to Shigatse. Drive over the Gampala pass (4790m) and catch a glimpse of Yamdrok-Tso Lake (4400m), which is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and offers spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), the highest peak near Lhasa. Later, we pass the Korola Glacier on the road. The prayer flag can be hung at Simila Mountain Pass in Manak Dam Lake.


Then we will travel to Gyantse, Tibet's third-largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum, and we'll also see the Gyangtse Fortress from a distance. After some time, we arrive in Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city. We spent the night in this city.

Day 7

Drive back to Lasha via Gyantse

Today's journey takes us back to Lhasa via Gyantse, with stunning scenery and cultural insights along the way. On the way, we'll stop at a viewing platform to take in the vast Yalong Riverbed, which is truly breathtaking. When we arrive in Lhasa, check into your hotel and take some time for yourself, taking in the peacefulness and atmosphere of this historical city.

Day 8

Lhasa to Kathmandu

On the eighth day of the Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan Highlights Tour, you'll fly from Lhasa to Kathmandu. On the way, you can admire the majestic mountains from high above and enjoy the blue sky with cotton clouds. Our representative will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at your hotel.

Day 9

Sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur

Today, you will explore two ancient cities near Kathmandu: Patan and Bhaktapur. 


In Patan, your itinerary includes visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Next, explore the Patan Museum to delve deeper into the history of this city and the reign of its kings. Then, proceed to the Golden Temple, a significant attraction for both Hindus and Buddhists, as well as the Banglamukhi Temple. After visiting Patan you will head towards Bhaktapur; it is the city that was the capital of the Greater Malla Kingdom until the 15th century. Bhaktapur is a treasure trove of artistic creations displayed in the temples and monuments of the city. Now this square is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is managed by the Archaeological Department of Nepal and Bhaktapur municipality. Bhaktapur is known as the most ancient city. Durbar Square used to be the home place of royal families. There are basically four different squares; Taumadhi Square, Durbar Square, Pottery Square and Dattatreya Square. You’ll explore the ancient architecture, intricate woodwork, and vibrant culture of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Nyatapola Temple, Bhairavnath temple, the statue of King Bhupatindra Malla, Peacock Window, Golden Gate, fifty-five windowed palace, Taleju bell, Dattatreya temple, Vatsala Temple, Chyasilin Mandap, are the major attraction of Bhaktapur.


After completing your sightseeing, return to Kathmandu and enjoy some well-deserved rest.

Day 10

Flight to Paro and drive to Thimphu (2300m) (2.5-hour drive)

Before three hours your flight scheduled time Asian Heritage representative will drop off you at Tribhuwan International Airport to catch a flight to Paro.  Upon arrival at Paro International Airport our office representative will meet & Greet you and transfer you to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel.  Visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue) a place for refreshing with a huge statue of Buddha on the top of the Kuensel Phodrang, visit Sangaygang View Point,  Takin Preserve Centre, the national animal of Bhutan can be seen here. In the evening visit Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest Dzongs in Bhutan and then you can go for a walk in the local craft market and Thimhu Main town

Day 11

Thimphu to Punakha and Sightseeing in Punakha

After breakfast drive to Punakha (4298 ft.)/ Wangdue, on the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 mts.). to view the higher Himalayas. Arrive at Punakha and check in at the hotel. After noon visit Punakha Dzong - built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named Druk Pungtang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Je-Khenpo and King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the first National Assembly here in 1952.  After that take a short and easy walk to visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest bridges in Bhutan. Evening free for leisure.

Day 12

Punakha to paro and paro sightseeing

After breakfast drive to Paro (7,483 ft.) On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit Ta Dzong - National Museum with an excellent collection of arts, relics, religious thangkha, etc. Rinpung Dzong - Meaning "fortress of the heap of jewels". The Dzong now serves as the administrative and judicial seat of Paro. Evening free for leisure.

Day 13

Visit Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)

After breakfast excursion to Taktshang Monastery or Tiger’s Nest (approx. 5 hours walk):  It is one of the most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries, perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley floor. It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called ‘Tiger’s Nest’. This site has been recognised as a most sacred place and visited by ShabdrungNgawangNamgyal in 1646 and now visited by all Bhutanese at least once in their lifetime. On 19 April 1998, a fire severely damaged the main structure of the building but now this Bhutanese jewel has been restored to its original splendor.

Day 14

Flight from Paro to Kathmandu and drive to Pokhara

In the morning, after breakfast, you will fly to Kathmandu. You can enjoy the spectacular view of the mountains from the window seat. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our guide will assist you. Your Drive onward to Pokhara will then be managed, you will head towards Pokhara, located in the west direction of Kathmandu, which is approximately 210 kilometers away. Upon your arrival in Pokhara, check in at the hotel and take some time to rest. Later in the afternoon, you can explore the charming lakeside streets of Pokhara and enjoy the serene beauty of Phewa Lake.

Day 15

Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today you will go sightseeing in the beautiful Pokhara. Davi's Falls, a mysterious waterfall, is only a short drive away. The Pardi Khola, a stream that emerges from Phewa Lake, causes the fall. Devi's Fall disappears into a mysterious cavern in the ground while producing magnificent sprays.

Another attraction is the Seti Gandaki River, which runs through the town. The limestone in the soil gives the river its milky hue. In some places, the Seti Gandaki runs completely underground. Several Tibetan settlements near Pokhara sell handicrafts and Tibetan carpets. Furthermore, we will go to Davi's Waterfall, Gupteswor Mahadev, and the International Mountain Museum.

Day 16

Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today, you'll start with an early drive to Sarangkot. Here, we can capture the city's peaceful and magical view before the sunrise. The first rays of sunlight on the mountains in the background are spectacular. Furthermore, Sarangkot presents panoramic views of Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and other mountains.

Next, we'll go boating at Fewa Lake and hike to Peace Stupa. Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist pagoda-style monument situated on Anadu Hill in Kaski. The boat ride across Phewa Lake from Pumdi Bhumdi Bay to Phewa Ghat takes up to half an hour. It's a great opportunity to see Himalayan peaks reflected in the water. It's also a relaxing way to end a hike with a panoramic loop around the World Peace Pagoda.

Day 17

Drive to Lumbini (6-7 hours)

Today you will head towards Lumbini, located in the Southwest direction of Pokhara, which is approximately 160 kilometers away. Lumbini is the most important Buddhist pilgrimage site the place where Buddha was born and attracts Buddhist pilgrims from around the world. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 18

Sightseeing in Lumbini and Drive to Chitwan

Today we commence sightseeing in and around the actual birthplace of Lord Buddha. You will visit the sacred garden, where you can explore the Ashoka pillar, the small pond Pushkarini, the Maya Devi temple, and the remaining meditation site, along with the residential monastery for monks. Following that, you’ll have the opportunity to tour some of the monastic establishments in the monastery zone. 


After sightseeing in Lumbini Continue your journey towards Chitwan, situated 150 kilometers from Lumbini. Along the route, you’ll come across numerous small shops and a mini-market. As you approach Chitwan, you’ll notice the forest becoming denser. Upon your arrival in Chitwan, check into your hotel and take a rest. In the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to attend the Tharu cultural program show. Enjoy the performance, and then return to your hotel.

Day 19

Activities in Chitwan

Start your full-day sightseeing tour. You’ll embark on a Jungle Safari by Jeep. Enter the community forest section to observe the One-Horned Rhino and various other wild animals like wild boar, deer, and leopard. Afterward, cross the Rapti River to reach the outskirts of the main national park area. If luck is on your side, you might even spot the Royal Bengal Tiger in the highland area where the bushes can reach up to 5-6 feet. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to witness wild elephants and other fascinating creatures. Once you’ve completed your jungle safari, return to the hotel for lunch. Later, take a guided tour of the Tharu village and enjoy a canoeing adventure on the Rapti River. Here, you can observe the Marsh Mugger and Gharial crocodiles resting by the banks of the Rapti River in Chitwan. Return to the hotel to relax after your sightseeing tour.

Day 20

Chitwan to Kathmandu (6-7-hour drive)

Today we return to Kathmandu, where you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel. Take your time wandering through the bustling alleys, absorbing the vibrant atmosphere, and browsing the various shops and stalls. Whether you're looking for souvenirs for loved ones or just enjoying the local culture, Thamel provides an unforgettable experience. Alternatively, you can relax at the hotel, packing your bags and reflecting on your journey's memories as you prepare to depart tomorrow.

Day 21

Departure

Your trip will come to an end today. Our representative will pick you up with a private van and drop you off at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport approximately three hours before your scheduled flight back to your home or other destination.

Terms & Conditions

Introductory provision:

“Company” refers to Asian Heritage Travel.

“Customer” refers to any person or organization trading with the Company or its employees or sub-contractors whether relating to the Companies products or services. 

“Contract” refers to the agreement between the Company and the Customer in relation to a booking.

“Holiday package” refers to any activity, trek, tour, course, accommodation or service offered by the Company. 

“Working days” means:  Sundays to Fridays, with the exception of recognized public holidays.

“Office hours” mean:  Sundays to Fridays from 08:00-18:00, with the exception of recognized public holidays.

“Group member” refers to an individual who falls within a group which is related to a Holiday package being offered by the Company.

 

Terms & Conditions:

These Terms and Conditions, together with all information relating to your chosen Holiday package, shall be part of the Contract between Asian Heritage Treks & Expeditions (“the Company”) and you (“the Customer”). Please read them carefully as they set out your and our respective rights and obligations. By asking the Company to confirm your booking, the Company is entitled to assume that the Customer has had the opportunity to read these booking conditions and legally agrees to abide by them.

 

Note:

When you confirm the Holiday package, we need a photo copy of your passport and upon the creation of the Contract; a deposit must be paid equal to 15% of the total agreed travel sum. The remainder of the travel sum must be received by the Company no later than six weeks before the day of departure. If the Contract is concluded within 6 weeks of the day of departure, the travel sum must be paid immediately and in full. Different terms and conditions may exist between other Customers and the Company; these terms and conditions are not transferable. In addition, payment arrangements may differ. This will not render the remainder of the contract void.

 

Asian Heritage Travel cannot be held responsible for the following:

• Injury, accident, illness, death while on the Holiday package unless negligence is proven against the Company.

• The loss, theft or damage to valuable or personal property such as camera, sunglasses, luggage.

• Alterations in the itinerary, and any subsequent costs, resulting from such events as illness of a Group member, unsafe weather conditions, delayed flights, and non-granting of permits or visas.

 

Cancelation charges:

Should you need to cancel your chosen Holiday package after it has been confirmed, you must immediately inform the Company in written form by recorded delivery post, fax or email. The notice of cancellation will only be effective when the Company receives it in written form. Cancellations outside Office hours are deemed to have been made on the next Working day. 

If a contract is cancelled, the Customer is liable to pay cancellation charges in addition to any booking charges. The cancellation charges are as follows:

• cancellation up to the 42nd day before the day of departure: the deposit;

• cancellation from the 42nd day up to the 28th day before the day of departure: 35% of the travel sum;

• cancellation from the 28th day up to the 21st day before the day of departure: 40% of the travel sum;

• cancellation from the 21st day up to the 14th day before the day of departure: 50% of the travel sum;

• cancellation from the 14th day up to the 5th day before the day of departure: 75% of the travel sum;

• cancellation from the 5th day up to the day of departure: 90% of the travel sum;

• cancellation on the day of departure or later: the full travel sum.

  • 5-night stay in a 3-star hotel in Tibet on a breakfast basis.

  • All land transportation by private vehicle with the driver is based on the above-mentioned program.

Flights

  • International flight tickets from Kathmandu-Paro and Paro-Kathmandu.
  • International flight ticket from Kathmandu to Lhasa to Kathmandu.

Additional Services

  • Food (lunch and dinner) in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Tibet, 
  • Drinks and beverage bills for all places.
  • Personal expenses.
  • All entry fees for heritage sites in Nepal (approx. 70 dollars per person: Nepal Highlights).
  • Tipping (tips).
  • Travel insurance.
  • Extra costs for upgrading rooms and services at hotels.
  • Donations at temples, schools, monasteries, etc.
