City & Sea: Santiago, Valparaíso & Viña

Today we explore the heart of Santiago de Chile on a guided tour through its most emblematic sites. We begin in the historic downtown, visiting landmarks such as Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and the Municipal building. We also stop at La Moneda Palace, the seat of the Chilean government, and stroll through the traditional neighborhoods that reflect the city’s colonial past.

We continue with a visit to Santa Lucía Hill – known as Huelén by the native people – a peaceful urban park in the middle of the city. From here, we learn about Chile’s history while enjoying one of the best panoramic views in Santiago.

The tour then takes us to Cerro San Cristóbal, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Located within Parque Metropolitano, it offers sweeping views of the capital and the Andes Mountains. At the summit, you'll find the Virgin Mary statue, a local symbol, as well as the perfect spot for photos and a moment of calm above the city bustle.

We then head to Barrio Lastarria, a lively district known for its cultural scene, heritage charm, and great culinary options.

In the final stretch, we visit the modern eastern side of Santiago – the sleek financial district known as “Sanhattan”, famous for its glass skyscrapers, contemporary architecture, and public art.

After this complete overview of Santiago – from colonial heart to modern edge – we return to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to continue exploring at your own pace.

No trip to Santiago is complete without seeing the colorful settings of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar.

Known as the “Garden City”, for originally being surrounded by largely green areas and for now preserving its extensive and beautiful urban gardens, with the Pacific Ocean as its backdrop, Viña del Mar is undoubtedly one of Chile’s unmissable destinations. Viña del Mar stands out for its beautiful architecture, its impressive palaces and famous Flower Clock, photographed by tourists from all over the world. During the tour, we will have the option to have lunch in one of the numerous restaurants in the city, with a variety of delicious sea food on offer. We will travel along the sea front, and enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean, before arriving at the most important ports in Chile; Valparaiso. It was listed as a Unesco World Heritage site thanks to its colorful beauty and the uniqueness of its location on the hills, which create a natural Amphitheatre with the ocean as its stage. We will visit Cerro Alegre, where we can truly appreciate the magic of the city, with its picturesque funiculars, multi-colored neighborhoods and unforgettable sea views. We will then head to the Sotomayor Square, to see the Monument of the Heroes of Iquique. Once in the port, there will be the option to take a boat out around Valparaíso’s bay to enjoy the views of the colorful hills from a different perspective. After that we go back to our hotel in Santiago de Chile.
