When you arrive at Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), your tour leader will meet you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. We can also pick you up from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo.

Your first stop is Dambulla, an intriguing town in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Known for its ancient cave temples featuring detailed murals and impressive Buddha statues, Dambulla gives you a deep look into the island’s spiritual and historical background.

Rising majestically from the jungle, Sigiriya is an impressive rock fortress filled with vivid frescoes, landscaped gardens, and sweeping views that tell stories of a past kingdom. As the day progresses, travel through lush highlands to Kandy, a city nestled among misty hills and centered around a calm lake. Next, join a delightful village tour that kicks off with a leisurely bull cart ride through scenic countryside paths. After this, enjoy a calming catamaran boat ride across a tranquil lake, taking in the serene natural beauty around you. The tour wraps up at a local home, where you’ll experience an authentic Sri Lankan cooking demonstration and learn the secrets behind traditional flavors and dishes.

When you arrive in Kandy, visit the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist sites, famous for housing the sacred relic of Lord Buddha’s tooth. Take in the peaceful atmosphere as you explore the beautifully decorated temple complex rich in history and spirituality.

This day is filled with beautiful scenery, cultural richness, and the promise of adventure as you experience one of the world’s most scenic train rides, the relaxed charm of Ella, and the edge of Sri Lanka’s iconic national park.

Today’s Itinerary:

Start your morning with a spectacular train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella. This journey is widely considered one of the most beautiful train trips in the world. As you wind through lush tea plantations, misty forests, mountain tunnels, and dramatic valleys, the slow-moving train offers panoramic views of Sri Lanka’s hill country. This relaxing ride is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and take unforgettable photos.

After arriving in Ella, explore this charming hill village known for its bohemian vibe, cozy cafés, and stunning views. Wander through local markets, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and if you have time, take a short walk to see landmarks like the Nine Arches Bridge or Little Adam’s Peak.

Leave the mountains behind as you head south toward Yala. Watch the landscape change from lush greenery to dry plains and scrub forests. Along the way, pass through rural villages and countryside that provide a glimpse of everyday life in Sri Lanka.

Arrive near Yala and get settled into your accommodation for the night. Whether you are surrounded by nature or close to the park’s edge, you will find a cozy place to rest.

Today starts with the excitement of an unforgettable wildlife safari in the wilds of Yala. It ends with the calming embrace of the Indian Ocean, where golden sands and swaying palms invite you to relax. This day perfectly balances the wild beauty of nature with the peaceful charm of Sri Lanka’s southern coast. It offers a mix of adventure, exploration, and complete relaxation.

Wake up before dawn and head into Yala National Park for an early morning safari, Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife sanctuary. Drive through open grasslands and dense forest in search of elephants, spotted deer, exotic birds, and the elusive Sri Lankan leopard. The cool morning hours are ideal for spotting animals, making this an experience you won’t forget. 

After your safari, start your scenic drive to Sri Lanka’s southern coast, where golden beaches and turquoise waters await. As the scenery changes from wilderness to coastline, embrace the slower pace of tropical beach life. 

Spend your afternoon relaxing on the soft sands, swimming in the warm sea, or soaking up the sun. Whether you prefer a quiet stroll along the shore or a refreshing dip in the ocean, the south coast provides the perfect escape.
