Tour program

Day 1

Day 1

After your individual arrival, pick up your separately booked rental car and drive to the hotel. How about a short boat tour on False Creek to get a first impression? The small, blue boats operate all year round and you have a wonderful view of the Vancouver skyline (optional). 2 nights at the Rosedale On Robson (mid-range).
One of the top highlights to explore in the city center is Stanley Park with its ancient cedar trees and views of the ocean and sandy beaches. In the middle of the park is the Vancouver Aquarium (optional), which is very popular with families. The Granville Island Public Market will delight foodies of all ages, with numerous restaurants and cafés in addition to the market stalls. If you like, you can take a trip to Grouse Mountain, from where you are rewarded with a magnificent view over Vancouver and the bay, and to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. A treetop walk and bird of prey center round off the local offerings.
Today's route takes you along the picturesque coastal road and into the mountains of Garibaldi Provincial Park. After a short drive you will reach Whistler, the venue for the alpine competitions of the 2010 Olympic Games. 3 nights at the Delta Hotels By Marriott Whistler Village Suites (upper mid-range). Approx. 125 km.
Outdoor enthusiasts get their money's worth here: hiking, mountain bike tours, climbing, ziplining, rafting - the possibilities are endless. A ride on the Peak2Peak gondola is also a highlight and on nice days you can enjoy the mountain panorama for many kilometers (optional). And for those who want to take it easy, there are also leisurely walks along the crystal-clear mountain lakes or a stroll through the pedestrian zone.
Another day to discover the mountain world of Whistler. The chances of seeing black bears here are quite high, perhaps bear watching is on the program today (optional)? On Alta Creek, also known locally as the "River of Golden Dreams", you can book excellent canoe and kayak tours for families - perfect for hot summer days (optional).
The panoramic Sea-to-Sky Highway offers you new, spectacular views of the fjords of Lions Bay and the magnificent mountain world of the Coast Mountains after almost every bend. Along the route, it's worth stopping in Squamish to take the Sea-to-Sky Gondola up to the summit (optional). Once at the top, a suspension bridge and beautiful hiking trails with magnificent views await you. After a short drive, take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay across the Strait of Georgia to Nanaimo. Keep your eyes peeled for the whales, seals and seabirds that live here. You will then reach Parksville. 3 nights at the Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort (upper middle class). Approx. 145 km + ferry approx. 1.5 hrs.
Around Parksville, numerous sandy beaches and hiking trails through the valleys surrounded by mountains are waiting to be discovered by you. Fishing, a bike tour or a kayak trip could be on your agenda today. Or how about a detour to the Horn Lake limestone caves? A trip to nearby Qualicum Beach, which is known for its arts and crafts, is also worthwhile.
How about a day trip to one of the highlights of the west coast of Vancouver Island today? The Pacific Rim National Park, located directly north of Ucluelet, is about 140 km from Parksville, so you should set off early. The Rainforest Trail should definitely be on your list, but a leisurely hike along Long Beach is also worthwhile. In Tofino, you can watch the surfers before exploring the town's thriving food and art scene.
Today, the picturesque coastal route takes you all the way to the south of Vancouver Island to Victoria. Stop in idyllic Duncan, where you can discover 39 totem poles and their interesting history on a route through the town. Once in Victoria, you can stroll along the harbor and marvel at the many seaplanes taking off and landing in the harbor, a fascinating sight - not only for children's eyes. 2 nights in Victoria. Approx. 150 km. Standard One Bedroom: Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites (mid-range). Standard Two Bedroom: Parkside Hotel & Spa (upper middle class).
Victoria is easy to explore on foot. Stroll through the streets, where many boutiques invite you to stroll or visit the parliament building, with interesting information on the history of British Columbia. A visit to the Butchart Gardens, a 22-hectare flower garden, is also worthwhile (optional)! This private garden is located approx. 21 km north of Victoria. Bicycle tours are also a popular way to explore the surrounding area and you can usually spot seals and sea eagles on a whale watching tour (optional).
Today it's time to say goodbye to Vancouver Island and head back towards the mainland. The ferry takes you from Swartz Bay through the archipelago of the San Juan Islands and then to Tsawwassen. After returning the separately booked rental car, your trip ends. Approx. 70 km + ferry approx. 1.5 hrs.
