Itinerary

The fifth tallest Mountain in Africa and second to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, climbing Mount Meru is a great, and wonderful experience. Mount Meru offers beautiful views of the crater and distant views of Mount Kilimanjaro from the summit, see a lot of different species of birds and animals on the lower hills of Mount Meru (feels like walking safari) and is for sure a unique and amazing experience in Tanzania.

Hikes are led by our Professional guides and all necessary climbing equipment and plenty of delicious meals.

You will be accompanied by one armed Ranger, guides, porters one cook to keep you strong and healthy for a successful climb.

Arrival

Arrive in Arusha, Tanzania’s vibrant safari hub, and be warmly welcomed by an African Polecat Safaris representative at the airport. Journey through lively scenery to the Njiro Legacy Hotel, your comfortable retreat nestled in the city’s heart.

Day 2

MOMELA - MIRIAKAMBA HUTS

Begin your Mount Meru journey with African Polecat Safaris, traveling from Arusha to Momella Gate after a hearty breakfast. Traverse Momella National Park’s grasslands on a wildlife safari with an armed ranger, spotting giraffes, elephants, monkeys, buffalo, and zebras in a rich blend of trekking and viewing. After a satisfying lunch, ascend into Mount Meru’s lush rainforest, alive with earthy scents and mysterious sounds.

Arrive at Miriakamba Huts for a delicious dinner and restful night, perfectly poised for the adventure ahead amidst nature’s grand prologue.

Day 3

MIRIAKAMBA HUTS - SADDLE HUTS.

Ascend Mount Meru with African Polecat Safaris, transitioning from lush rainforest to the rugged heath region. Marvel at the shift to heather clumps and moorland scrub, unveiling a stark yet stunning panorama. Trek along the Meru Crater ridge, captivated by the "ash tray" and sweeping crater vistas. 3. SADDLE HUTS - SUMMIT- ARUSHA.

Launch your Mount Meru summit quest at midnight with African Polecat Safaris, fueled by a warm cup of tea under a starry sky. Ascend a steep trail through a volcanic realm, passing Rhino and Cobra Points, to reach Socialist Point. Greet dawn with a stunning sunrise over Arusha, a triumphant reward for your resolve. Descend to Momela Gate, savoring new vistas, where your driver awaits to return you to Arusha.

Relax, enriched by the midnight climb and panoramic glory—a professional triumph etched in memory!
