Tour program

Day 1

Livingstone

Our tour starts today with a visit to Victoria Falls - the smoke that thunders. There are plenty of optional activities available here, so look at arriving a couple of day prior to your tour beginning to enjoy these fully.
Today we board our Acacia vehicle and head for the border of Botswana. Once weve crossed over, we drive the short distance to Kasane town on the outskirts of the Chobe National Park. Home to large herds of breeding elephant as well as lion, buffalo, hippo and abundant birdlife, including the famous African fish eagle. The Chobe River is a huge watering spot for these amazing animals and we explore it this afternoon on the Fish Eagle Boat Cruise.
Rising early we head out on game drive in the Chobe National Park and see which animals have been most active overnight. From here its back on the road to the small village of Nata on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans area. Watch a variety of antelope and wild elephants roaming freely in their natural habitat at our camp tonight.
Once a rural little town, Maun has become a thriving community. The ideal tourist destination and starting point for all wishing to visit the Okavango Delta. We stop off and stock up on supplies need on our Delta overnight excursion before heading to our camp where we have some free time to enjoy the pool, play some volleyball or simply chill out at the bar area.
A mokoro excursion into the world renowned Okavango Delta by local Tswana polers is an opportunity not to be missed. Traverse the complex waterways of the Delta while learning about the amazing flora and fauna in this area.We head out today on our 4x4 transfer and wind our way through the sandy bushveld to the polers station, where we transfer to our dug-out canoes and travel further into the wilderness. We spend the night at Elephant Camp - a set mobile camp within the delta in tents with stretcher beds and basic en-suite facilities. We explore the surrounds on foot - learning all about what makes the Delta such a unique, and noteworthy place.
Departing on our early morning mokoro ride we make our way back to Maun and have an opportunity to take a scenic flight over the Delta or just relax and catch your breath until your next adventure.
We continue via a small town of Ghanzi on the edge of the great Central Kalahari to the border of Namibia. Our camp for the night is a stone throw across the border of Namibia. Here amidst a seemingly unfruitful environment we meet the San/Bushman. They will give us some insight into how they have managed to use natural resources to survive the harsh climate and keep their culture alive.
Leaving our camp in the morning we via Gobabis to Windhoek. Here we have the opportunity to view the German-style architecture in the capital city of Namibia. Explore the surrounding areas and catch a small glimpse into the early colonial history.
Travelling north today, we head through the farming towns on the main route north to the famed Etosha National Park in northern Namibia. As we check through the gate we game drive on the small pathways to seek out wildlife as we slowly make our way to the fenced camp within the park. Spend a relaxing evening at one of the waterholes awaiting the nocturnal visitors.
Enjoy a full day game drive with a local guide pointing out a variety of the parks inhabitants.Etosha National Park, is a vast reserve of over 20,000 sq km surrounding a central salt depression or pan. The pan is seasonally full of water but specially managed waterholes sustain some 114 mammal and 340 bird species throughout the rest of the year.
Leaving the wilderness behind, we continue through the Namibian countryside to the calming landscapes and ever changing red shaded rock formations at Spitzkoppe. Explore the area and its ancient bushman paintings on a tour this afternoon and tonight you have the opportunity to sleep out under the stars.
Known as the adventure capital of Namibia, Swakopmund has a myriad of optional adventure activities on offer.Visit the local markets for souvenirs of your amazing African adventure and delve into the adventure activities on offer. Today we bid farewell to our Acacia vehicle and crew with memories of an amazing adventure.
