Itinerary

Embark on the 11 Day Cape Town, Garden Route & Kruger Package, a grand South African journey that seamlessly connects popular scheduled guided tours for a diverse and exciting adventure. Starting on a Tuesday in Cape Town and concluding on a Friday in Johannesburg, this package also includes accommodation, airport transfers, and some meals. The itinerary features unguided free time in Cape Town, offering you the flexibility to sightsee or to book optional adventures. Key stops on the guided segments include exploring the Cape Peninsula/Cape Point and the Cape Winelands, traversing the Garden Route to locations such as Sedgefield, Tsitsikamma, Bloukrans Bridge (the world’s highest commercial bridge bungy jump) and Oudtshoorn. The package culminates with a thrilling 4-day safari experience in the Greater Kruger Park area, which includes earky morning, afternoon/sunset and night game drives, bush walks, and a full day of game viewing in Kruger National Park.

Day 1

Airport to Cape Town

Package Start/Arrival in Cape Town (Unguided free day)

Today is the first day of your package and we start with your arrival in Cape Town, affectionately known as the ‘Mother City’. Your driver will collect you from the Airport (included) and take your through to your accommodation. If you are already in Cape Town and will not require an airport pickup, your driver can pick you up and take you to your first night's accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day you have some ‘free time’ where you have the choice of going on any one of the MANY amazing advetures we offer and can book for you in advance. From Quad Biking, Ziplining, Paraglinding, Cruises and many more, OR you can spend the rest of your day at your own leisure and go sightseeing, visiting the local markets or just lazing at the beach or your accommodation.

On unguided free days all transport to and from activities you have booked will be for your own account should transport not be included in the activity price. Your arrival time in Cape Town will determine which activities can be done.

Day 2

Cape Point/Cape Peninsula Tour

Today you join the full day Cape Point/Cape Peninsula tour (Guided scheduled group tour).

Experience the absolute best of the Cape Peninsula on a tour packed with breathtaking scenery, history, and wildlife.

­ 

Your adventure begins with a leisurely stroll through Bo-Kaap, immersing you in the culture and brightly colored houses of this historic neighborhood. We then sweep along the stunning coastline, passing through the exclusive seaside suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay before taking a scenic photo stop.

­ 

The journey continues onto one of the world's most spectacular coastal roads: Chapman's Peak Drive. This leads us to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve (included), where you'll hike for about 40 minutes from the legendary Cape of Good Hope (the southwestern-most tip of Africa!) up to the iconic Cape Point Lighthouse.

Next, we head north to the famous Boulders Beach Penguin Colony to watch the comical African Penguins waddle and roam from the viewing boardwalk (an optional ticket allows for an even closer view - own expense). After working up an appetite, we'll stop for lunch in one of the charming coastal towns (own expense).

The final leg of the tour takes us past the Shark Spotter lookout, a vital service for local surfers, and into the Constantia Valley. Here, we finish the day with a relaxing experience at Groot Constantia, South Africa's oldest wine estate outside of Europe. Enjoy a delightful wine tasting (own expense) in beautiful surroundings as you learn about the Cape's rich agricultural history.

Cape Town

Day 4

Cape Town to Sedgefield

For the next 3 days you will embark on rip-roaring adventure from Cape Town that takes you along the scenic Garden Route (Guided scheduled group tour).

­ 

We leave the mother city behind and head east along the N2 past Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa to a Private Game Reserve on the edge of the Garden Route. Here we go on a game drive (included) where we search for lions, cheetah, hippo, elephants, buffalo and many more wild animals.

After lunch you have the option to either (own expense):

1) Experience a guided fun forest and bush quad bike ride, twisting through trees and around bends, OR

­ 

2) Discover the natural beauty of Kaaimans by enjoying a kayak trip and visit a waterfall.

Next we carry on our way to the small coastal town of Sedgefield, renowned for its diverse and picturesque landscapes, where we will spend the night. The town is surrounded by lush forests, serene lakes, and pristine beaches.

Day 5

Sedgefield to Tsitsikamma to Sedgefield

3 Day Garden Route tour continue

We begin our day with a visit to a popular local farmers and craft market in the village. We then make our way to a sanctuary for orphaned elephants where you have the option to learn about these gentle giants and go on an optional Elephant viewing activity (own expense) OR you can choose to visit a Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary (own expense) where rescued monkeys roam free in a large jungle area.

­ 

For our next stop, prepare yourself for the ultimate rush, where you have the opportunity to experience a heart-pounding, adrenaline-fueled 216-meter plunge off Africa’s highest bridge, the legendary Bloukrans Bungy - World’s highest commercial bridge bungy jump (own expense).

If the bungy is not quite for you but you are still looking for a unique experience and trill, then try the SkyWalk Tour (own expense) offering breathtaking views, with a bit of adrenaline still, and a front-row seat to watch the bungy jumpers in action.

After the trill of a lifetime and with your feet back on solid ground, we head back to Sedgefield where (if time allowed) you can spend some time at Myoli beach before heading back to our accommodation for the evening where we carry on with the festivities.

Day 6

Sedgefield to Cape Town (+ flight to Johannesburg)

3 Day Garden Route tour end

This morning we head over the Outeniqua Mountains to the Karoo town of Oudtshoorn where we have 2 options to choose from (included):

­ 

1 - You can either choose to explore the wonders of the Cango Caves, one of the largest cave systems in the world, OR

­ 

2 - You can visit an Endangered Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary, home to many local and exotic endangered species, OR

­ 

3 - Fisit an Ostrich Show Farm for an informative tour & a chance to see chicks in season.

­ 

After lunch we begin our journey back to Cape Town along the spectacular Route 62.


Note that the next day (day 7) you are departing on a 4 days ‘Kruger’ trip and you have to be in Johannesburg for this departure. You will therefore have to book a flight (own expense) from Cape Town to Johannesburg for THIS evening of day 6.


Your flight has to be an evening departure that departs from Cape Town any time from 8 PM - no earlier.


Upon return back to Cape Town this evening of day 6, you will be dropped off directly at Cape Town International Airport. Once you land in Johannesburg (O R Tambo International Airport) a driver will be waiting at the airport to collect you and take you to your accommodation for the night (included).

Day 7

Johannesburg to Tremisana

For the next 4 days you will join an epic adventure of the Greate Kruger area and Kruger National Park  (Guided scheduled group tour).


You will be collected in the morning from your accommodation, and our journey takes us through farmlands and into the picturesque Lowveld, heading straight to Tremisana Game Lodge within the Balule Section of the Kruger Park. After checking in, you'll have a brief moment to relax—unwind at the bar, take a swim, or stroll through the tropical gardens.


In the late afternoon, we board an open Land Cruiser for an exciting 4-hour Sunset Drive (included). Your expert guide will point out various animals and birds. Once darkness settles, we use spotlights to search for nocturnal species.


Dinner is an unforgettable Bush BBQ served at our Marula Tree Boma. Following dinner, we continue with the Night Drive (included) before returning to your comfortable, air-conditioned, en-suite thatch-roofed chalets for the night.

Day 8

Greater Kruger

4 Day Kruger tour continue 


Start your day at sunrise for an exhilarating immersion into bush life. We drive to a remote section of the Balule Game Reserve for an unforgettable 4-hour Bush Walk (included). Your experienced field guide will lead you through the wilderness. The thrill of tracking Africa's large animals until you are close enough for a perfect photo is a moment you'll cherish forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding the presence of your armed ranger.


We return to Tremisana for brunch. A light lunch will be served in the Lapa at approx. 13:30.

Around 15:00, we head out for an afternoon game drive (included). Finally, we transfer you to Marc’s Treehouse Lodge, where your accommodation awaits in fascinating and romantic treehouses.

Day 9

Kruger National Park

4 Day Kruger tour continue

Today, we drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger National Park aboard a custom-built, open-sided Gameviewer vehicle. This specialized vehicle gives you the perfect opportunity to view wildlife without any intervening glass, allowing you to listen to and smell the bush environment as well. We will make regular stops at picnic sites, rest camps, and places of interest throughout the day.

We focus our game viewing (included) in the Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions. These open plains attract massive herds of animals like zebra, giraffe, and various antelope, which in turn draw numerous predators. In fact, this zone is known to have the highest concentration of lions in Africa.

Day 10

Kruger to Johannesburg

Your final day begins with a tranquil Sunrise Walk (included). Following breakfast, we drive along the spectacular Panorama Route to take in the scenic wonders of the Blyde River Canyon, including a stop at the magnificent Three Rondavels viewpoint. We return to Johannesburg in the late afternoon.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The following Terms shall have the meanings set out below when used in these Booking Conditions:


'Cape Xtreme' and/ or "Cape to Addo" means Cape Xtreme Adventure Tours (Pty) Ltd.


'Activity / Tour' means the Activity / Tour booked by you or any person on your behalf.


‘We’ and/or ‘us’ and/or ‘our’ refers to Cape Xtreme and/or Cape to Addo.


‘You’ refers to the client(s) / individual(s) booked to participate in tour(s) and/or activities and/or package(s) offered by Cape Xtreme and/or Cape To Addo


'Travel Agent' means any Agent/3rd through whom your booking with Cape Xtreme Adventure Tours and/or Cape to Addo is made.


'Force Majeure' means any circumstances which are unusual and/or unforeseeable which are beyond the control of Cape Xtreme or Cape to Addo, the consequence of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, including (but not limited to) weather conditions; war or threat of war; riot; civil strife; hostilities; political unrest; government action; industrial dispute; natural or other disaster; nuclear incident; terrorist activity; closure of airports; fire; flood; drought; rescheduling or cancellation of flights or alteration of the airline or aircraft type by an airline and technical problems with transportation that are outside our control.


1. General


(a) Standard booking terms only act as a guideline and each activity / tour and Accommodation has its own set of specific terms that will take effect. These conditions govern your relationship with Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo set out details of Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo obligations in relation to any activity / tour which you book or is booked on your behalf. Please read these conditions carefully before making a booking.


(b) Please be aware that these terms include limitations on the liability of Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo and their obligations relating to any activity / tour and certain exclusions of Cape Xtreme’s and Cape to Addo’s responsibility. These conditions do not govern your rights and/or duties in relation to any other person or company whose services may be used on any activities / tours.


2. Your Activity/Tour Contract


(a) When a booking is made, the 'cardholders name' / ‘booking holder’s name’ on the booking guarantees that he or she has the authority to accept and does accept on behalf of the party the terms of these booking conditions. A contract will exist as soon as we issue our confirmation and invoice. This contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions, which are governed by South African Law, and the jurisdiction of the South African Courts.


(b) On receipt by Cape Xtreme’s or the relevant Travel Agent of your completed booking form and payment (full or deposit(s) - tour or activity dependant) we will reserve your activity / tour in respect of all persons travelling. It is important to check the details on the invoice when you get it, or if booking late at the time of booking, that all the details are exactly as you requested. In the event of any discrepancy, please contact us or your travel agent immediately.


(c) If you want to cancel or change your booking later you may have to pay amendment or cancellation costs (described below) which may be as much as the whole activity / tour cost. All cancellation or change requests are subject to conditions and/or charges as per points 4 & 5 in this document.


(d) All brochure/website/tour information sheets or itineraries descriptions are made in good faith and every care is taken to ensure their accuracy. However, in view of the details contained therein and the fact that brochures/websites/tour information sheets or itineraries are necessarily prepared/created some time in advance of distribution and of the activity / tours; advertised facilities, amenities, entertainment and schedules may, on occasion, be restricted, curtailed, changed or cancelled. Therefore, changes may be made to the particulars you have seen at any time before the contract with you is made. In these circumstances, we will notify you of such changes prior to confirmation of your booking or before your tour departure. Tour information sheets/itineraries are only listed as guidelines and are subject to change without prior notice. All included highlights in your activity / tour cost are scheduled and will be visited unless visit is not possible due to circumstances outside of our control. Visits are in no specific order (the itinerary can sometimes run in reverse or in a different order).


(e) You give your full consent to Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo to make use of any written, documented, video or photo content taken during the activity / tour to be used for marketing purposes, be it online, printed or verbal. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use such content for Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo’s own publicity and promotional purposes.


3. Your Activity / Tour Price


(a) Unless otherwise specified or arranged with Cape Xtreme and/or Cape To Addo, when you make your booking you must pay 100% of the total activity / tour price. All monies you pay to Travel Agents are held by them on our behalf at all times. If payment isn’t made by the due date, we will assume that you cancelled and our cancellation charges in accordance will be levied to you or the travel agent who made the booking. In the case of a late- or last minute booking made within 30 days of the activity / tour start / departure date, the full amount of the booking will be payable (unless otherwise specified or arranged with Cape Xtreme and/or Cape To Addo). Quotes are valid for 24hours only, unless otherwise specified. Note that when paying by Credit Card, it may take a few days to be paid into and reflect in our Bank Account. Refunds will only be processed back in the original method of payment and only after full review and verification, and subject to cancellation terms and conditions. Discounted or special offers are final and non-refundable.


(b) The price of your travel arrangements was calculated using exchange rates quoted on www.xe.com


(c) Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo reserves the right to raise or lower its prices at any time before you book the activity / tour. Prices may vary in subsequent editions of brochures/websites and you should ensure that you look at the most recent edition. Prices shown during the online booking process may vary from those shown elsewhere on the site. If, at the time of booking your activity / tour the price has changed from what you have seen, you will be told the revised price applicable to the activity / tour before you commit yourself. When you make a booking on our website you will be shown prices that relate to the activity / tour being booked. We will make every effort to ensure that these prices are accurate. It is possible that these prices may be incorrect due to a technical fault, genuine error or circumstances beyond our control. If this happens we will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible to advise you of the correct price. When you receive this information you will have the option to proceed with your booking with the corrected price or cancel at no charge. We reserve the right to amend any incorrect prices and/or descriptions.


4. If You Cancel or Change Your Booking


(a) If after our confirmation has been issued, you wish to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date or activities, we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be from the person who made the booking or your Travel Agent. You will be asked to pay an administration charge per person and any further cost we incur in making this alteration. You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made and you should contact us as soon as possible. If the date you wish to change your booking to is unavailable, fully booked or we can not run a tour or activity on that date for any reason you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown below. Please see below for cancellation fees & refunds - timelines and fees / refunds apply to all tours and activities unless otherwise specified.


GENERAL CANCELLATION POLICY

Outside 30 days – 20% fee, 80% refund

Within 30 days - 30% fee, 70% refund

Within 7 days – 50% fee, 50% refund

Within 48 hours - 100% fee, No refund

Late arrivals/No show - 100% fee, No refund


KRUGER TOURS, PACKAGE TOURS & PRIVATE/CUSTOM TOURS CANCELLATION POLICY

If any confirmed Kruger Tour, Package Tour & Private/Custom Tour booking is cancelled more than 14 days ahead of departure, Cape to Addo & Cape Xtreme will retain 50% with a 50% refund issued.

If any confirmed Kruger Tour, Package Tour & Private/Custom Tour booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to departure, then Cape to Addo & Cape Xtreme will retain the full amount paid (No refund)


Timeframes given above, with regards to cancellations, are in relation to the scheduled start date and time of the activity / tour being cancelled. The refund percentages and timelines may vary from one tour / activity to another and may occasionally differ from the general policy. Please ensure that you check the relevant tour/activity information and specific conditions.


5. If We Change or Cancel Your Activity / Tour


(a) It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements as we do plan the arrangements well in advance. Occasionally we may have to make changes due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control or operating requirements and we reserve the right to do so at any time. Most of these changes will be minor and we will advise you or your Travel Agent of them at the earliest possible date. If an alternative is not available or acceptable you will be entitled to either a full refund or transfer to another activity / tour without transfer fees.


(b) If the change or cancellation is due to force majeure (i.e. circumstances like political unrest, closure of airports, industrial disputes, fire, epidemic or health risk, Acts of God, adverse weather conditions or other similar events beyond our control) and a suitable alternative day or time is not available to reschedule, we will give a partial refund (less reasonable expenses incurred by us in respect of your booking). As a rule, bad weather cancellations are subject to a 90% refund unless otherwise specified.


(c) Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo is and will not be responsible for the costs of any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations or rescheduling of any departure.


(d) If it is necessary to cancel your travel arrangements, except where cancellation is due to non payment by you of your final balance, we will pay to you minimum compensation as set out below.


6. Compensation


(a) Compensation will not be payable and we will not otherwise be liable to you if we are forced to cancel, delay or curtail in any way to change your Activity / Tour as detailed previously.


7. Our Liability To You


(a) Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo does not provide personal travel insurance cover for clients. Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo cannot be held liable for the loss, theft or damage to client’s luggage, hand luggage or personal effects. Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo, or its employees and agents can and will not be held responsible for any accident, injury, illness, death, loss or delay from any cause whatsoever sustained or suffered by any person during matters related to accommodating, transporting, sightseeing, and activities of any means whilst on our tour. Clients are recommended to have their own travel insurance/cover in place to cover them and their belongings for the duration of their stay/tour and all associated arrangements and costs.


8. Personal Injury


(a) We do not accept any responsibility if you or anyone in your party suffer death, illness or injury while on any of our tours or activities or during the duration of any package or tour booked with Cape Xtreme and/or Cape To Addo and associated suppliers. You join our tours at your own risk. We will however assist you and do our very best to help in anyway possible. We in no way accepts any responsibility for any medical or other costs incurred as a result of death, illness or injury or otherwise sustained while on on any of our tours or activities or during the duration of any package or tour booked with Cape Xtreme and/or Cape To Addo and associated suppliers. Clients should ensure that they are adequately insured and enquire from your insurer to check what exactly you are insured for in terms of adventure or high-risk Activities / Tours.


9. Disabled Clients


(a) Due to the types of activities you will be partaking in, you agree that you are physically fit and capable of performing such activities. Our vehicles and most accommodation booked are not equipped for persons with disabilities. Any clients with disabilities should please check with Cape Xtreme and Cape To Addo prior to making any bookings to avoid any issues in this regard.


10. Changes Beyond Our Control


(a) Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo will do its best to keep all activities and tours running on the date said Activity / Tour is booked for. However, as per point 5 above, if there are any changes beyond our control due to bad weather Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo has the right to change the date of the Activity / Tour at anytime. If the client can not change to another date for whatever reason, they will receive a 90% refund. If the client changes the date of their Activity / Tour to a date where the price of that Activity / Tour has increased for whatever reason or if there aren’t the required minimum numbers of guests on the new date to run the activity, the client must additionally pay the difference in price between the increased price and the original paid price to be confirmed.


11. Transaction Currency


(a) We are a South African merchant and advertise prices in several currencies, ZAR being our base currency. If a customer pays using a non ZAR currency, the amount debited to the cardholder's account will be as close to the relevant advertised price as possible.


12. Optional Activities / Tours on Scheduled Group Tours and Packages


(a) Optional extras activities are charged additionally and can only be paid while on tour unless otherwise specified.


(b) Optional extra activities are offered as part of each tour’s free-time. None of the optional activities are compulsory. Some optional extra activities are pre-booked by us for your convenience, however, some are weather dependent and may only be confirmed the day of the activity. Optional extra activities are never guaranteed as some of them are weather dependent and all optional extra activities scheduled on tour are provided by third parties.


13. Pick Up and Drop Off


(a) Not all tours and activities offered through Cape Xtreme and Cape To Addo include transport and/or pick-up and/or drop-off. Please ensure that you check on this ahead of booking. Pick up times for our scheduled activities / tours where transport is included/specified, are early morning for some, and can be as early as 4am/5am/6am, tour and season dependant.


(b) We will contact you a day before your tour starts to confirm your pickup time. Pickup times can only be confirmed a day before your tour starts as we work off of the most updated list of travelers and the different pickup points once our bookings have been closed off. Please note contact is made via email or phone and it is essential that correct contact details are supplied. It is your responsibility to check email ahead of departure for final details and/or any other communications.


(c) Where transfers / pick up & drop off is included in you activity / tour, collections are from any Cape Town accommodation or street address within a ±5-10km radius of the city centre, tour or activity dependent. Please enquire and/or confirm ahead of departure. By special arrangements, if operationally feasible, pick up and/or drop off may be arranged further afield and may be subject to an additional charge.


(d) Pick up times may vary by 15 - 30 minutes due to traffic. Please be sure to contact us if your pickup is running more than 30 minutes behind schedule. We also try our best to advise clients in advance if we are made aware of any anticipated or confirmed delays.


(e) There are no set / guaranteed drop off times. Drop off times can range from late afternoon to early evening and can vary between ±5pm - ±10pm.


(f) Clients are advised to not make any scheduled arrangements (such as flights) for the first or last day of the booked activity / tour, as traffic and weather can delay the approximate pick up and drop off times. We will do our best to keep to the activity / tour schedule and timings, but no liability whatsoever will be accepted and no compensation given, for unplanned changes or late arrivals due to factors outside of our control.


14 - Accommodation on Tours


(a) The accommodation listed on your tour information sheets/itineraries are the preferred suppliers we use in our scheduled and packaged multi-day tours.


(b) Depending on the availability at the time of booking, accommodation on our tours will be at the mentioned options or in one of a similar standard and/or star rating.


(c) All accommodation on our scheduled multi-day tours includes bed and bedding. Bath towels are available at most accommodation providers (ask your guide on the tour).


(d) Our tours are priced per person (pp) for standard backpacker dorm room (shared) style accommodation. Double and/or Twin room accommodation upgrades are available and can only be booked in pairs (eg. couple or two friends), as these prices are listed as per person sharing. Private rooms at backpacker / hostels generally only offer shared bathroom facilities, however, some providers may offer ensuite or private bathrooms (this is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed - please ask about this specifically when booking).


(e) Dorm rooms consists of single bunk beds, sharing with 6 to ±14 guests in a mixed gender (male & female) group room. Double rooms consists of 1 double bed in a private room. Twin rooms consists of 2 single beds in a private room. Triple/Quad/Family consists of a double bed with a single bunk bed/single bed/pull-out sofa bed in a private room. Single rooms consists of 1 bed for 1 person in a private room.


15. Departures of Scheduled Tours


(a) Our scheduled groups tours are guaranteed to depart subject to certain criteria. We are aware that in most cases travel plans are often made long in advance and we do not want or wish to interrupt your travel plans and schedule. We do have set minimums for our scheduled group tours to guarantee them to depart, however, the activity / tour you booked and paid for will not be cancelled by us except in unsafe or harsh weather conditions. In the rare occasions when you might be the only person booked for a specific departure date, or if required minimum numbers have not been reached, we will give you the choice of either moving to an alternative date for the same activity / tour OR to move over to a similar tour or combination of tours and activities departing on the same day or within original booked period. If no suitable alternative is found for you, then you will be eligible for a full refund to the value of the original tour/activity/package. Alternatively, if you still wish to do the original tour /activity as booked alone with the tour guide, then this can be done subject to additional payment specified by Cape Xtreme / Cape To Addo.


16. Age Limits/Restrictions


(a) No infants or children under the age of 12 are allowed on scheduled group tours and packages. Children under the age of 18 (12 to 17 years) must be accompanied with a suitable or suitably qualified adult companion. Some activities have higher or lower age restrictions. Please check on these ahead of booking.


(b) Families with small children can be booked on an exclusive/private ‘family friendly’ tour.


(c) There are no set upper age limits on our scheduled group tours, but the tour is designed for young-at-heart travellers.


17. Discounts


(a) One discount per booking.


(b) Discounts apply on standard rates only. Discounts are not applicable to upgrades (including room/accommodation upgrades above shared/dorm standard/value), options, or private activities/tours.


(c) Group discounts have to be booked at the same time, for the same activity/tour and should only be paid in one transaction.


(d) Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively and can only be applied at the time of booking and paying, subject to the specific group / individual / tour / departure as well as the information supplied at the time of booking. No requests for refunds or credits related to discounted offerings will be entertained after bookings have been finalised.


18. 3D Secure Payments / Payments via Cape Xtreme website and/or online payment links / gateways and card transactions in general.


(a) Cape Xtreme and Cape to Addo’s online transactions are protected by our integrated payment gateway and booking system’s 3D Secure authentication and fraud detection. 3D Secure is a method enforced by international Card Associations to enhance security and protect you from fraudulent transactions. If your card is registered for 3D Secure, you will be redirected to a pop-up window during the online sale, requesting you to enter a One Time Pin (OTP). By entering this OTP you prove that the online transaction is authentic and that you are the cardholder. The OTP can either be sent to you via text message or email (only to contact details that are already set up and linked to your bank account). It is important to have access to these communication channels during the online card payment process, as you will need to enter the password to authenticate the payment within a minute after you have entered your card details.


(b) If your card is not registered for 3D Secure, or if it is your first time shopping online in South Africa, then you may need to setup 3D secure and/or notify your bank that you intend doing online transactions/purchases with a South African business. Your bank will inform you how to register your card for this required function.


(c) Contact your bank for more information, or if you have problems with completing the 3D secure authentication process.


(d) International cardholders might also need to first get approval from their bank to use the card online for foreign currency (ZA Rand) sales or to increase daily spending limit to match the sale amount.


(e) Any payment submitted via the Cape Xtreme website and/or supplied payment link/gateway is deemed to be final and in agreement to all relevant terms and conditions including the cancellation policy.


(f) Requests for refunds can only be made in adherence to terms and conditions and subject to relevant cancellation policy, charges and timelines. Refunds will only be made via the original payment method / card.


(g) Chargeback requests via clients banks or credit card companies will not be entertained or approved if they do not meet the relevant cancellation policy and in particular where no refund request has been made, in writing, to Cape Xtreme or Cape To Addo.


(h) Any attempt on the part of the client, to have a chargeback processed through their bank and/or credit card company, in circumvention of refund procedures and/or where no refund is due, will be viewed as fraud.


19. Smoking policy


(a) Smoking is not permitted on any of our vehicles or inside any accommodation unless otherwise indicated. Smoking is also not permitted in restaurants, public places or within the borders of any national parks or game reserves visited, unless otherwise indicated or at designated smoking areas. Please be aware that South African smoking laws can see fines being issued for failing to adhere to smoking policies and regulations. Please respect these rules as well as fellow guests.


20. Alcohol


(a) South Africa’s legal age for the consumption and/or purchase of alcohol is 18 years. No guests under the age of 18 are permitted to consume, or even participate in tasting of, alcohol. Where clients who are minors are present, the responsibility of overseeing them in this regard lies with the designated guardian or adult .


(b) Accommodation establishments used on our tours have their own rules pertaining to the consumption of alcohol. Please ensure that you check these and adhere to them.


(c) No alcohol may be consumed on any of our tour vehicles and no open alcohol bottles should be in the passenger / seating area of the vehicles at any time. Please ensure that you adhere to these rules as failure to adhere can be viewed as antisocial behaviour.


21. Conduct on tour


(a) Clients on all scheduled and/or private tours and/or activities are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards fellow guests, staff, guides and other third parties and in abidance to any rules and regulations pertaining to the activity / tour, as well as the laws of the country as a whole. We reserve the right to remove, from an activity or tour as a whole, any guest who: acts in an abusive, aggressive or antisocial manner, or deliberately/ wilfully disregards rules or instructions given by guides or activity leaders, accommodation or activity related rules and regulations, or engages in any form of criminal activity including the use of drugs. No refunds will be given in case of removal from a tour and/or activity and any additional costs incurred directly or indirectly will be for the guests account.


22. Grievances, comments or complaints


(a) We are committed to delivering a high standard of service and product and as such, we take any grievances, comments or complaints seriously. Should you have any grievances, comments or complaints with respect to Cape Xtreme and or Cape to Addo, you should inform us in writing within 14 days of the incident (preferably sooner), as we will not be able to consider complaints thereafter.
