10 Day Western Uganda Wildlife Safari

In the morning, we shall pick you up from Entebbe town or downtown Kampala at 8:00am and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. There will be a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking. Spend a few hours enjoying the sighting of the White rhinos. After the Rhino trek, we will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park for dinner and overnight. 

Game Drive and Boat Trip at Murchison Falls National Park

In the morning, you will go for a game drive in the park to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, we will take a relaxing boat trip on the River Nile, and here you will have a chance to see crocodiles, hippos, and a range of rare birds. You will also see for yourself the point where the River Nile joins Lake Albert, one of the “major highlights” of this trip. After the boat trip on River Nile, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After early morning breakfast, we will have a short drive to the Top of Murchison Falls. See the spectacular falls for a few minutes and start the drive to Kibale National Park. We will then start a 6-hour drive to Kibale National Park. The drive to Kibale National Park will go through western Uganda's major cities, including Hoima, Kyenjojo, and Fort Portal. There will be a scheduled stopover for lunch along the way—dinner and overnight at Kibale National Park. If we arrive at Kibale early, there is an option to visit the award-winning Bigodi Conservation Project for a coffee-making experience.

You will head to the Kibale forest immediately after breakfast to trek the chimpanzees in their forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter other different species of monkeys in the Kibale forest. These include colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi swamp birding sanctuary to learn about this award swimming community conservation project. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park after the chimp trek.

Kasenyi Plains game drive

You will start the day with an early morning breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various species of wild animals. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine Rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks. While spotting the "Big Five" in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may site leopards to make it to the "Big Four." 

Kazinga channel boat cruise

After lunch, join the Kazinga channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth National Park

Before driving to Bwindi National Park, there will be an opportunity for additional game drives. Or consider the "Lion Tracking" experience, which costs an extra $100 per person! Dinner and overnight at Bwindi National Park.

You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct the presentation covering what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take a few hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. After the gorilla trekking, drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. 

This trip will take you to trek the golden monkeys, an endemic Mgahinga Gorilla National Park species in southwestern Uganda. You will enter the forest and walk through the bamboo vegetation and various indigenous plants like giant lobelia. Your national park guide will tell you about the national park's history and the fauna and flora that the park holds during the trip. The golden monkey trek should take about 5 hours. Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi after the golden monkey trek

This is the day you will transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park. After arriving at Lake Mburo from Lake Bunyonyi, you can join an afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo to sight wildlife. Alternatively, do an evening game drive. 

Start the day with an early breakfast followed by a game drive at Lake Mburo National Park to spot additional wildlife. And then start a drive to Entebbe International Airport. If interested, a stopover is scheduled at the Equator crossing to grab coffee and shop for handicrafts.
