- The adventure begins with a 5:00 a.m. pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. We’ll journey towards the Sacred Valley, passing through Ollantaytambo and ascending the scenic Abra Málaga pass. At the starting point of the Capac Ñan (Inca trail), we’ll begin a breathtaking descent through Polylepis forests, spotting orchids, local wildlife like the Royal Cinclodes bird, and even Andean bears if we’re lucky.
- After a 4 to 5-hour hike, we’ll arrive at Panticalle, nestled at the base of the Verónica snow-capped peak (3,881 masl / 12,730 ft). From here, a private vehicle will take us to Huyro, where we’ll visit Inca ruins and experience local tea and coffee plantations.

HUYRO – INCA CARCEL – SANTA TERESA
- After breakfast, we’ll explore another section of the Capac Ñan, surrounded by lush forests and coffee plantations. Hiking along this ancient Inca road for about an hour, we’ll arrive at the Inca Carcel, a fascinating historical site with spectacular views of Salkantay Mountain.
- Following a delicious local lunch, thrill-seekers can enjoy an exciting zipline experience, crossing a river and ending at the Cocalmayo Thermal Baths, where you’ll relax and soak in the warm waters.
Day 3
SANTA TERESA – LLACTAPATA – AGUAS CALIENTES
- We’ll begin with breakfast before heading to the Llactapata archaeological complex, where you’ll enjoy stunning views of Machu Picchu from a unique vantage point. The trek takes us through the Aobamba Valley, filled with exotic birds, orchids, and waterfalls.
- After exploring Llactapata, we’ll continue for about 3 hours, passing by Intihuatana, an Inca astronomical solar clock, before reaching Aguas Calientes. Here, we’ll check into our hotel and prepare for the next day’s highlight: Machu Picchu.
Day 4
AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
- We’ll start the day early with breakfast and take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu, arriving in time to witness the serene morning atmosphere. During a 2-hour guided tour, you’ll explore the most significant areas of the citadel, including its temples, altars, others, while learning about its fascinating history and cultural importance.
- After the tour, you’ll have time to further explore the site at your own pace or simply soak in the breathtaking surroundings. Once finished, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes by bus for lunch. Depending on your train schedule, you’ll head to the station at least 30 minutes before departure. After the train ride to Ollantaytambo, our private transport will take you back to your hotel in Cusco, marking the end of this unforgettable journey.
- Afterward, you’ll have free time to explore or climb Huayna Picchu (with prior permits) for panoramic views of the citadel. Once satisfied, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll take the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a private transport to Cusco, concluding this incredible journey.
