Itinerary

The Everest Base Camp Trek  is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the planet. The Everest Base Camp has a lot more to offer other than just attractive views of the Himalayan range, which definitely isn’t a bad thing. The trek starts after a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla, trekkers initiate the journey to Everest Base Camp by traveling through Sagarmatha National Park, a rugged and breathtaking landscape that showcases the deep rivers and massive glaciers carved into the terrain.

After the steep climb through the Sagarmatha National Park, trekkers make it to Namche Bazaar. The Namche Bazzar at 3,440m is the home of the famous Sherpas and a charming retreat in this splendid landscape. It has numerous lodging accommodations for trekkers. It also has stores where you can get extra supplies. Trekkers have the chance to discover the rich cultural heritage of the Sherpas and the varied landscape of surrounding areas.

After Namche the trail passes through lush alpine forests, stunning glacial rivers and sacred Buddhist temples leading towards Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar. At Kala Patthar, it’s too obvious and easy to make out why Mt. Everest and Sagarmatha National Park is such a popular destination. Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m), transfer to hotel, welcome dinner

After your trip to Kathmandu, Our Team will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. On the way, you could have your first impress about Nepalese culture. Change of sceneries guaranteed. Sounds, smell, rickshaws, colours, street.

Day 2

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding.

After a good night sleep, we will fly from Kathmandu to the Tenzing  Hillary Airport at Lukla. Upon arrival, we will start the trek to Phakhing. The trail comes to the Dudh Kosi Valley before to uphill to Phakding.

Day 3

Trek from Phakding to Namche (3,440m)

We will cross a river thanks to a suspension bridge and uphill following the shoreline to Chumoa, where there are some coffee shops. Afterward, we will walk through the forest and different small villages. The last two hours, uphill climb to Namche Bazaar, nicknamed the capital of Sherpa. An excellent time to understand their lives in the mountain and to discover their cultural heritage.

Day 4

Namche Bazaar

To prevent the altitude sickness, you will have a free day in Namche Bazaar. If you are feeling good and wants to explore, you could hike to Syangboche Everest View hotel, the highest hotel in the world to observe close view of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku, Lhotse.

Day 5

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,870m)

The trail will uphill and downhill to the Dudh Kosi River, its current makes turn the prayer wheels. One last steep ascent on 400 meters before to reach Tengboche Monastery with a panoramic view in the background..

Day 6

Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m)

Today we will walk through a rhododendron forest with many mani (Tibetan mantra engraved stones) to Pangboche. On the high part of this village is exposed the skull and the hand of a supposed yeti, the emblematic and mystic animal of Himalaya. Afterward, we will walk through others small villages.

Day 7

Dingboche

Today we will hike up to Chhukung Valley, which is lies on the southern slopes of Lhotse and Nuptse by the Lho Glacier and the Nup Glacier, the western slopes of Cho Polu and Baruntse by the Imja Glaciers, and the northern slopes of Mount Ama Dablam by the Ama Dablam Glacier and Chukhung Glacier. This area was traditionally used as a yak pasture with no permanent habitation. With the popularity of the Mount Everest Trek, several lodges have been built there.

Day 8

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)

The trail climbs steadily to Khumbu Glacier during 3 hours. Then, we could see a set of a memorial dedicated to Sherpas and trekkers who lost their lives in the Himalaya. A last short ascent leads to Lobuche.

Day 9

Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m), hike to EBC (5,364m)

Today, we will finally uphill to reach the Everest Base Camp. The highest peak of the world. Enjoy this unforgettable experience before to get down to Gorak Shep.

Day 10

Hike to Kala Patthar (5.545m) and trek to Pheriche (4,280m)

Early in the morning, we will hike up to Kalapatthar. This peak offers the best view of the Everest summit of the entire trek. Enjoy and take some photos to keep memories of this breath-taking view. Now, its time to going back and after your great ascension, the trail is going to seem easy.

Day 11

Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Like on the way up, you could share a time with local people in Namche Bazaar village.

Day 12

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m)

This is your last trekking day, which will finish in the same place when we started the trek: in the city of

Day 13

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

Morning, You will take 35 minutes flight back to Kathmandu and transfer to you to Hotel. Free and easy in the afternoon.

Day 14

Stay in Kathmandu

It is important to add a day to your itinerary, in case of the weather conditions for our fly back. Like the day before you will have free time to enjoy as you want.

You are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total amount per person per trip for your booking to be confirmed.

PASSPORT & VISAS

All clients must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from return date to travel Nepal, Tibet & Bhutan. Nepalese visas can be obtained from the Nepalese Consulate in your country or upon arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Nepalese visas costs are the sole responsibility of clients.

As you are unable to obtain visas to Bhutan & Tibet you need to send your passport details to Asian Journey for visa applications at least 30 days prior to the departure date.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is compulsory for all Clients undertaking any tour. It should provide adequate protection for the full duration of the tour to cover personal injury, death, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, helicopter rescue, air ambulance and adequate cover for baggage.

FLIGHT DELAY OR CANCELLATION

There is the possibility of a flight delay or postpone due to bad weather in the Himalayan regions which could be happened in particular airports, Lukla Airport in Everest region Jomsom airport in Mustang, Juphal Airport in Dolpa, Simikot and Jumla region airports.In this case, you’re highly advised to reserve extra days to prepare for some delays and avoid frustrating consequence. In case of flight cancellation pre-tour/post-tour, you need to meet your accommodation and food costs yourself.

RIGHTS TO AMEND THE ITINERARY IF REQUIRED

Tour once commenced will strictly go as per the itinerary finalized. In case of events and circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to change all or parts of the contents of the itinerary for safety and well being of our esteemed passengers.

HEALTH & FITNESS

All our tours and treks require a level of fitness, there for you should always check with your local GP regarding your health and fitness before you travel. It’s the client’s responsibility to notify Asian Journey of any pre-existing medical condition and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of you required medical attention, that may affect your ability to travel.

INJURIES AND EVACUATION

Asian Journeys would not be liable for any injury/health conditions/emotional or other conditions suffered by the client during the trip. Similarly, our package cost does not include any personal insurance. Hence, we advise the clients to take adequate insurance packages, including medical emergencies and evacuation by Helicopter.

RISK & LIABILITIES

We are committed to providing the best services which will give you a “once in a lifetime” journey. So, we perform our duties honestly and seriously to achieve our commitment. However, the entire program is conducted strictly under the rules and regulation of their own policies.

Therefore, Asian Journey and its related organization shall not be responsible for any changes in the itinerary due to unavoidable circumstances such as government restriction, notorious weather, road blockage, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay, sickness or accident, any natural disaster (earthquake, landslide, flood, snowfall, avalanche, etc) or other things beyond our control. But we will try our best to take you to safety from any kind of danger. Any extra cost incurring thereof shall be borne by the clients on the spot.

INCOMPLETE OR EARLY COMPLETE TRIP

No refund will be made to clients who drop out from the journey regardless of whatever portions remain unused in the itinerary and who finished the trip earlier days than mentioned in the itinerary.

COMPLAINTS

Should you have a complaint about the trip or tour you must make it known to a tour leader or guide at the earliest opportunity who will take the appropriate action.
