Yukhin Peak (5130 m) offers an incredible opportunity to challenge yourself in the high mountains and conquer your first 5000-meter summit. The route is technically easy, with no challenging ice or rock sections, making it accessible even for participants without prior mountaineering experience, provided they are in good physical shape.

Located in the northern ridges of the seven-thousander Lenin Peak, the ascent begins from the "Edelweiss Meadow" Base Camp (3600 m), where you can choose between cozy heated tents or traditional Kyrgyz yurts for accommodation. The next waypoint is "Solnechniy" advanced Camp 1 (4400 m), perched on the moraine at the very foot of Lenin Peak’s massive North Face. The summit push to Yukhin Peak starts early in the morning from Camp 1, with a return to the camp by evening.

Why choose this tour?

A straightforward route to a summit over 5000 meters.

Stunning views of Lenin Peak and the Alay Valley.

Comfortable high-altitude accommodations in two yurt camps, featuring excellent infrastructure for rest and recovery, as well as meals akin to the finest restaurants in Central Asia: balanced breakfasts, hearty lunches, and dinners prepared by a professional culinary team.

An introduction to high-altitude mountaineering.

Important: Climbing in high-altitude environments always carries inherent risks, including extreme weather conditions and individual physiological responses to altitude. Participants should be aware of these challenges and prepare accordingly.

Arrival at the yurt camp located at Edelweiss Meadow (3600 m), offering the best views of Lenin Peak. Accommodation and lunch.

Overnight at “Edelweiss Meadow” base camp (3600 m).

Start point

Osh, Kyrgyzstan

Hiking time: 3–4 hours; altitude difference: +500 m, -500 m.

The ascent reaches an altitude of 4100 m, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the picturesque Alay Valley, the majestic Trans Alay Range, and its highest summit – Lenin Peak (7134 m). From the viewpoint, you’ll also see the labyrinth of lakes in the Achik-Tash Valley, numerous base camps, Tulpar-Kol lake, and the neighboring snowy gorge.

Return to the camp. Rest and preparation for tomorrow's ascent to Camp 1 "Solnechniy".

Overnight at “Edelweiss Meadow” base camp (3600 m).

Hiking time: 6–7 hours; altitude difference: +800 m.

The ascent to "Solnechniy" Camp begins with the familiar path through Lukovaya (Leek) Meadow and continues over the Puteshestvennikov (Traveller’s) Pass (4150 m) before reaching the magnificent Lenin Glacier.

After descending from the pass, the trail flattens out, running almost horizontally and parallel to the left moraine. The journey includes a river crossing, followed by an ascent to the trail leading to Lenin Glacier. From there, the route progresses along the glacier itself, leading to "Solnechniy" Camp 1 (4400 m), located on the medial moraine.

Upon arrival, accommodation and rest.

Overnight at "Solnechniy" Camp 1 (4400 m).

Trekking time: 6–7 hours; altitude difference: +730 m, -730 m.

▶ Stage 1: Starting from Camp 1 (4400 m) on the middle moraine of the Lenin glacier. Traversing the glacier crosswise and beginning to ascend the left (orographically) moraine of the Lenin Glacier.

▶ Stage 2: Ascending the moraine’s ridge. The slope’s steepness reaches 20–25°. Entering a gentler area and crossing it towards the southern slope – to a wide couloir leading directly onto the summit of Yukhin Peak (5130 m).

▶ Stage 3: Ascending the right (in the direction of the movement) side of the couloir, the slope’s steepness reaches 30° in some places. Most of the time we walk on snow, in some places on scree of small or medium-size stones. Left turn after the emergence from the couloir. After walking for some 15meters on a narrow snow-covered ridge we reach the upper plateau just beneath the peak and the summit proper.

▶ Stage 4: The group will descend the mountain along the same route as they climbed it.

Overnight at “Solnechniy” Camp 1 (4400 m).

Trekking time: 5 hours; altitude difference: -800 m.

On the way down, enjoy the stunning views of colorful cliffs, whimsical stone towers, and the "Land’s Edge" canyon in the Achik-Tash River Valley.

Upon arrival, accommodation in the "Edelweiss Meadow" camp and rest.

Upon arrival in Osh, check in at the hotel and enjoy some free time.

We recommend a self-guided walk through the city center. Visit the Osh Bazaar to shop for souvenirs or take the stairway trail up the sacred two-peaked Suleiman-Too Mountain. In about 30 minutes, you can reach the viewpoint at 1092 m, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the entire city of Osh. Here, you’ll find a massive Kyrgyzstan flag and the ancient Babur’s House (15th–16th centuries), a historic site tied to the grandson of Tamerlane. The mountain’s central location in the city adds to its allure, and visiting around sunset will reward you with the most spectacular views.
