Egypt Gift Tours driver will pick you up from your Aswan East bank hotel or Nile cruise (pick up time starts with the earliest at 4 am and latest at 9:30 am) by air-conditioned car to hit the road to Abu Simbel to start your tour to the fascinate colorful temples of Abu Simbel. Drive for about 280 kilometers, approx. 3 to 4 hours through the Egyptian desert and watch the sunrise over the mountains.
Upon arrival, get to your hotel (book it yourself) to check in and refresh then, drive to the temples of Abu Simbel to meet your Egyptology tour guide, buy your tickets, then take a short walk to the temple entrance. Your Egyptology guide will explain the history of the site. Hear details of the UNESCO-led relocation of the entire cliff face to higher ground, and how the temples were only discovered by accident in 1813.
Due to the large number of visitors, guides are not permitted inside the Great Temple of Ramses II or the smaller Temple of Hathor. However, by using photos and illustrations your guide will explain the structures and their interior artworks before giving you the free time to enter the temples and explore at leisure. As one of the few Ancient Egyptian sites that largely escaped damage from past invaders, the interiors of the Abu Simbel temples are astounding. The scale of the buildings and their detailed decorations leave most visitors in awe. The experience is further enhanced by the scenic location on the edge of Lake Nasser in the orange sands of the desert. After visiting the temples, benefit from the time for a visit to the small visitor’s center to see documents relating to the UNESCO relocation project.
Transfer to your hotel and have time to relax for a few hours before being transferred and escorted by the driver in the evening to see the renowned Sound and Light Show at Abu Simbel Temples, considered the best Sound and Light Show in Egypt. Once it has finished, you will be transferred back to your Hotel for an overnight.
An early start after breakfast before getting crowdy with visitors, then you will be transferred to the temples to enable you to see the Temples at Abu Simbel on your own in their glory with the sun rising in their unique style and considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt reflecting the glory and grandeur of the New Kingdom.
Finally, drive back in comfort to your Aswan east bank hotel or Nile Cruise.
