Begleiten Sie uns auf einer faszinierenden Route in die Arktis, entlang unberührter Wildnis und alten Wildtierkorridoren sowie traditioneller Handelsrouten von Händlern der First Nations - später von Klondike Gold Rush Prospektoren und NWMP-Patrouillanten verwendet.
Die Route bietet einige der größten geografischen Vielfalt des Landes; Die Tombstone Mountains im Zentrum von Yukon gehören zu den jüngsten Gebirgszügen in Nordamerika, während die tief rollenden Ogilvie's mit ihren nackten Stacheln während der letzten Eiszeit nicht vergletschert wurden und somit zu den ältesten gehören. Nördlich der Ogilvie-Berge flacht die Landschaft allmählich zu einer niedrigen Tundra ab und kurz nach der Überquerung des Polarkreises kommen die Richardson-Berge, die nördlichste Ausdehnung der Rocky Mountains, in Sicht.
Von dort aus beginnt die Fahrbahn mit dem Abstieg in das beeindruckende Mackenzie Delta, das am 12. größten der Welt, um in Inuvik, bekannt als Place of Man, zu kommen. Die Tour endet mit einem aufregenden Ausflug in das Inuvialuit-Dorf Tuktoyaktuk an der arktischen Küste, die über eine Schotterstraße entlang des Mackenzie-Flusses und des Arktischen Ozeans erreichbar ist, wo wir die Möglichkeit haben, unsere Zehen im Arktischen Ozean zu „tauchen“.

Whitehorse – Dawson
Vor den späten 1950er Jahren war die einzige Möglichkeit, im Sommer nach Dawson City zu reisen, die Fahrt auf einem majestätischen Schaufelraddampfer wie der SS Klondike. Heute werden wir die 550 km lange Strecke in nur wenigen Stunden zurücklegen. Unsere heutige Route führt uns durch das Herz des Yukon-Innenlandes, mehr oder weniger entlang des Yukon River Tals. Am Morgen halten wir für einen Kaffee in der Braeburn Lodge, die für ihre riesigen Zimtschnecken berühmt ist. Dann fahren wir weiter in Richtung Norden auf dem Klondike Highway und passieren mehrere kleine Dörfer und Siedlungen der Ureinwohner, darunter Carmacks, Pelly Crossing und Stewart Crossing. In der Nähe von Carmacks bietet die Straße großartige Ausblicke auf die berühmten Five Finger Rapids und etwa eine Stunde außerhalb von Dawson halten wir am Aussichtspunkt Tintina Trench, von wo aus wir einen Blick auf das weite Yukon-Innenland mit den dahinter liegenden Ogilvie Mountains haben, die wir übermorgen durchqueren werden. Nach einem entspannten Abendessen besuchen Sie die Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall mit Pokerspielen und Cancan-Dance-Girls. Übernachtung in Dawson City.

Dawson
Nach dem Frühstück entdecken wir Dawson City. Ein Besuch der Kabinen von Jack London und Robert Service sowie des Museums steht auf dem Programm. Ein Highlight ist die Fahrt in die Bonanza und Eldorado Creeks, wo wir die historische Dredge #4 und eine aktive Goldmine besuchen. Du hast die Chance, dein Glück beim Goldschwenken im Klondike zu versuchen. Am späten Nachmittag fahren wir die Midnight Dome Road hinauf, um einen fantastischen Blick auf Dawson City und den Yukon River zu genießen. Nach einem echten Essen im Norden haben Sie die Zeit, die Stadt selbst zu Fuß zu erkunden. Übernachtung in Dawson City.
Tag 4
Dawson – eagle Plains
Wir werden heute früh aufbrechen und zum Dempster Highway fahren. Der Dempster ist eine der wirklich großen kanadischen Straßenverbindungen. Er wurde erst in den späten 1970er Jahren fertiggestellt und ist bis heute die einzige vollständig öffentliche Straße in Nordamerika, die den Polarkreis überquert. Die heutige Fahrt gilt als landschaftlich besonders reizvoll. Der Tombstone Territorial Park umfasst die zerklüfteten Gipfel im Westen, die dem Park seinen Namen geben, und weiter hinten bieten die Ogilvie Mountains eine großartige Landschaft und atemberaubende Ausblicke. An den Straßenrändern werden oft wilde Tiere gesichtet, halten Sie also Ausschau nach Füchsen, gelegentlich nach Wölfen und Karibus. Wir halten für ein Picknick an einem Campingplatz am Flussufer an, wo uns Grauhäher oder 'Camp-Räuber', wie sie in der Gegend genannt werden, Gesellschaft leisten und uns gerne mit den Resten helfen. Als wir am späten Nachmittag/frühen Abend in Eagle Plains ankommen, wirkt das bescheidene Hotel, die Tankstelle und die Autobahnmeisterei - die einzige Zivilisation auf etwa 300 km in beide Richtungen - wie eine Oase! Übernachtung in Eagle Plains.
Tag 5
eagle Plains – Inuvik
Wir verlassen Eagle Plains und machen unseren ersten Halt an der Überquerung des Polarkreises, wo wir mit einem Glas Champagner auf diesen besonderen Anlass anstoßen werden. Nachdem wir eine Bergkette und zwei Flüsse (den Richardson und die Flüsse Mackenzie und Peel) überquert haben, besuchen wir die First Nations Gemeinde Fort MacPherson. Die berühmte verlorene Patrouille, die nach ihrem Tod von RNWMP Corporal Dempster - nach dem der Highway benannt ist - gefunden wurde, ist hier zur Ruhe gelegt. Als ehemaliger Handelsposten an der Hudson Bay tragen einige Älteste der Eingeborenen noch immer Kleider mit Hudson Bay-Aufdruck. Inuvik ist eine relativ junge Gemeinde mit einer alten Geschichte. Die kanadische Regierung gab den Bau der Stadt in den 1950er Jahren in Auftrag, als sich abzeichnete, dass das nahe gelegene traditionelle Dorf Aklavik langsam im Delta versinken würde. Auch die Inuvialuit (Inuit, die früher abwertend als Eskimos bezeichnet wurden) wurden von verschiedenen Orten an der arktischen Küste hierher gebracht. Passenderweise bedeutet der Name Inuvik in der Sprache der Inuvialuit "Ort der Menschen". Auf dem Weg zum Hotel machen wir einen kurzen Rundgang durch das Dorf und am Abend haben Sie Zeit, die Stadt zu Fuß zu erkunden. Unterkunft in Inuvik.

INUVIK - TUKTOYAKTUK
Der heutige Tag wird ein denkwürdiger Tag werden. Wir fahren entlang des ausgedehnten Mackenzie River Deltas in Richtung der arktischen Küste. An der Mündung des Flusses in den Arktischen Ozean biegt die Straße nach Nordosten ab und führt entlang der Küstenlinie des Arktischen Ozeans in Richtung des Dorfes "Tuk", wie es von den Einwohnern genannt wird. Nicht weit von der Stadt entfernt, sehen Sie den ersten von mehreren 'Pingos'. Das sind Berge, die im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes aus Eis bestehen und durch das alljährliche Gefrieren und Tauen Jahr für Jahr in die Höhe geschraubt werden. Der höchste ist über 100 m hoch! Wir werden von einheimischen Führern erwartet, die uns auf eine Tour durch ihr einzigartiges Dorf mitnehmen. Unterwegs halten wir unter anderem an dem historischen Schoner Lady of Lourdes und einigen der berühmten Gebäude der Gemeinde Tuk, wie z.B. den Grassodenhäusern und Kirchen. Sie sehen auch die Northern Early Warning Site (ehemals DEW Line) und haben sogar die Möglichkeit, Ihren Zeh in den Arktischen Ozean zu tauchen! Wir werden zu einem traditionellen Mittagessen und einer kulturellen Erfahrung bei den Inuit im Haus eines Einheimischen eingeladen. Rückkehr nach Inuvik am späten Nachmittag. Unterkunft in Inuvik.

Transfer zum Flughafen Inuvik, Einchecken, Besteigen des Flugzeugs in Richtung Süden. Die Tour endet mit der Ankunft am Whitehorse

If we or our partners are forced to change the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, like forest fires, floods, breakdowns, all decisions are left to the discretion of the tour guide.
Charter Services & Custom Programs are subject to a deposit and cancellation policy that is different from our standard payment & cancellation policy. We reserve the right to charge additional deposit or full payment at the time of booking. You will be advised at time of exact deposit and cancellation terms.

For all activity programs (i.e., but not limited to, river rafting, horseback riding, canoeing, hiking, sightseeing etc.) in Canada and USA clients will have to sign a “waiver of liability”. The tour operator and wholesaler is under the obligation to inform the client in time that a waiver of liability has to be signed at the beginning of the program. Arctic Range Adventure will, of course, always do its best to ensure the greatest possible safety for all its clients.
Arctic Range Adventure can also not be held liable for changes in tour itineraries due to weather conditions, acts of God or special conditions beyond our control.
All costs that may result from any delays of passengers at the airport or any delays that might occur at the end of the trip are the responsibility of the client. Arctic Range Adventure cannot be held liable.
Furthermore, Arctic Range Adventure cannot be held liable for the contents of any brochure prepared by a wholesaler or tour operator and any misrepresentation of our tours therein.
Should clients encounter problems during their trip they are required to contact Arctic Range Adventure immediately in order to solve the problem. Should a written account of concern be filed, it has to be sent to Arctic Range Adventure within 4 weeks of completion of trip. Claims received after that date cannot be considered.
