Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Kathmandu is a bustling city with abundant medieval attractions of temples, stupas, and traditional Newari civilizations. After having breakfast at the hotel, our tour guide picks you up and takes you for a full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu.
Swayambhunath stupa is in fact a mixed form of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage destination. It has got a huge stupa at the top of the hill, where one can reach through the stone paved steps. The entire surrounding is full of cultural and spiritual vibes. From the top, you can explore the Kathmandu valley view.
Pashupatinath temple is the epitome of Hindu cultural prosperity. It is a world-renowned pilgrimage destination, which is located at the heart of Kathmandu city. Not only the cultural vibes but also the arts, architectures, crematory zone, several temples, and pagoda shrines are amazing to see and pay homage to.
Boudhanath stupa with its mandala shape is located about 7 km away from Thamel. It is a cultural hub for Buddhist devotees and people coming around the globe. The fluttering prayer flags and meditating people around the stupa represent its spiritual prosperity.
Patan Durbar Square is another boss example of fine arts. The pagoda-style shrines, Krishna temple, ancient museum, chowks, and traditional buildings with artistic rooftops and windows are great. If you love arts and its flourishing culture, Patan is the best example.
Drive to Bandipur- a Newari Town.
Crossing 150 km distance requires a minimum of 5.5-6 hours of time. Having breakfast at the hotel, we start to drive through the Prithvi Highway, but the road is quite a switchback, but it might be a new experience for you. The Trishuli River side and the settlements located nearby look amazing. With a couple of stops on the way, we reach a peaceful but culturally loaded village, which is called Bandipur. It is famous for Newari people and their cultures. In the 18th century, trade-loving Newari people settled in Bandipur and did their business. After check-in at the hotel, walk around the village and see the attractions of the town. Overnight at the hotel.
Drive to Pokhara and enjoy a sightseeing.
The sunrise in the morning wakes you up and you have breakfast at the hotel. Driving from Bandipur to Pokhara is 77 km, but it takes about 3 hours. Arriving at Pokhara, first check in at the hotel and take a rest. Then set out for a half-day tour that is located nearby. Today, we visit Bindabasini temple, Mahendra cave and Seti River gorge and see the evening aarati at Lakeshore. Then back to the hotel and you have your time to roam around Lakeside Street. Overnight at the hotel.
Sarangkot Sunrise and Pokhara sightseeing.
The trip starts early with a visit to Sarangkot, a hilltop to catch the first glimpse of the sun over the majestic Himalayas- Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan chain. Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Fishtail, Nilgiri, Himchuli, and the surrounding peaks shine amazingly with the first touch of sun rays.
After having breakfast, we enjoy boating in Fewa Lake and visit island temple situated amid of the Lake. If we have enough time we can do hiking via green wood on the southeast edge of Fewa Lake to World Peace Stupa and Pumdikot. Or we can visit Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Mahadev and drive uphill to World Peace Stupa and Pumdikot. From World Peace Stupa and Pumdikot we admire enchanting view of snowcapped mountains like, Machhapurchchhre, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Himchuli and stunning aerial view of Pokhara valley spotted with crystal clear lake. After having memorable day in Pokhara Valley, we will back to hotel.
Drive to Lumbini and rest.
Driving from Pokhara to Lumbini is quite a long trip, but it is scenic at the same time. Having breakfast at the hotel, you will begin the road trip via Palpa Tansen, which is a beautiful historical place. The ending point of the trip is through the flat road as it is located in the terai region. The 203 km road trip ends in the culturally significant place, which is the birthplace of Lord Buddha- Lumbini. Overnight at the hotel.
Explore Lumbini and get insights.
Today you will begin your day at the Maya Devi Temple, where you may honor the holy site thought to be Lord Buddha's birthplace. Explore the Sacred Garden, which is surrounded by peaceful walkways and lotus ponds.
Today you will also explore other international monasteries, each with distinctive architectural designs, and the Ashoka Pillar, which has inscriptions emphasizing the importance of Lumbini.
Don't miss the tranquil World Peace Pagoda, which offers expansive vistas of the surroundings. As the day draws to a close, consider the deep history and calmness that abound in this spiritual sanctuary.
Drive back to Kathmandu.
It takes about 8-9 hours to drive back from Lumbini to Kathmandu passing 250 km, but the highway drive is quite scenic. The road initially is on flat terrain and the second half is a switchback. You will stop in several places for meals and refreshments, which allow you ample time to stretch, enjoy the view, and make your tummy full with delicious meals. Arriving in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel and you will have time for a massage, dinner, and walk around the local marketplace. Overnight at the hotel.
