Details about the Tirolerweg from Garmisch to Innsbruck
Mountain enthusiasts and experienced hikers feel right at home on the Tirolerweg. The eight-day trekking tour through the Wetterstein and Karwendel mountains can hardly be surpassed in terms of variety: wildly romantic mountain scenery, blooming alpine landscapes, snow-covered glaciers and rocky edges frame the trip. You spend two days in the deepest Karwendel mountains - on the Halleranger Alm. Not only does the Isar rise there, but the Alm is also home to the 2,321 meter high Sunntiger Spitze. At the very top, a peak awaits you with a view of the surrounding mountains. A challenging hike with unforgettable impressions!
Interesting facts about the Tirolerweg
The trekking tour starts through the state of Tyrol with our German neighbors. After an overnight stay, the next day you set off from Garmisch-Partenkirchen with a circular hike to the Höllentalklamm at the foot of the Zugspitze. On the second day you reach the Wetterstein Mountains and the impressive Schachen Castle. The hike to Scharnitz in particular will make any mountaineer's heart beat faster. From rocky landscapes to small valleys and mountain passes, everything is included. This trekking tour is one of the most challenging and is only recommended for experienced hikers. You hike for between four and a half and seven and a half hours each day through partly high alpine terrain. On the sixth day you have the opportunity to take a break - or climb a peak in the Karwendel Mountains.
