In the morning, take the train to the Brenner Pass. From the small border town of Brenner, take the well-developed cycle path, mostly along the Eisack river, first to the small village of Gossensass and then straight to the once mighty Fugger town of Sterzing. Here, you can take a longer break before continuing downhill on the cycle path to the beautiful Reifenstein Castle and Franzensfeste with its famous fortress. From there, it's only a few kilometers back to Brixen.

The old railway line from Brixen to Bozen has been adapted into a fantastic cycle path. The route is steadily slightly downhill and leads first through the medieval town of Klausen with the Säben monastery. The valley becomes narrower and narrower and the vineyards of Italy's northernmost wine-growing region come closer. Bozen is reached far too quickly! You shouldn't miss a walk through the Laubengasse to the famous "Ötzi Museum" and a glass of wine at Waltherplatz.
