Prek Toal covers over 31,000 hectares at the northwest tip of Tonle Sap Lake and is home to a stunning array of bird species including Greater and Lesser Adjutants, Black-headed Ibis, Painted Stork, Milky Stork, Spot-billed Pelican, Grey-headed Fish Eagle, and many more. Recognized as the most popular core area among the Tonle Sap Biosphere’s three core zones, Prek Toal is often described as “the single most important breeding ground in Southeast Asia for globally threatened large water birds.”
