In the afternoon enjoy Lappish Culture and Reindeer Safari
Travel back in time with a reindeer sleigh ride, a traditional Lappish method of transportation! With the reindeer's’ steady pace, you can get the most out of the pristine scenery. For photograph enthusiasts, there are many ideal photo opportunities along the ride and while on the reindeer farm. Begin the trip by encountering living history
on the reindeer farm. Reindeer herding is among the oldest professions held by the native people of Lapland and much of their way of life perseveres today. The best way to meet the locals in Lapland is to meet a reindeer—they outnumber the humans! Reindeer have been the staple animal in Lapland for thousands of years, a primary means of transportation, milk, and meat. Reindeer herding began with the nomadic indigenous people of Lapland, the Sami, who lived in reindeer herding communities. Our guests have the chance to meet the reindeer farmers themselves who can regale us with stories of their life and livelihood hand-in-hand with nature. Kids (and grown-ups) will enjoy the chance to feed the reindeer some tasty lichen, their favorite treat. Indoors you can enjoy something hot to drink and Finnish pulla (buns). After meeting and greeting the reindeer we’ll embark on a pleasant sleigh ride through the amazing landscape. We go off the beaten track at a steady pace making the ride suitable and comfortable for all.
On the way back enjoy a visit to Santa Claus Village. You can meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle every day at the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi.
There are many souvenir shops as well as Santa’s Main Post Office, program service companies and cafes and restaurants in the Santa Claus Village. And of course, Santa is there too, in his chamber every day of the year. The Arctic Circle is a circle of latitude that runs 66°33′45.9″ north of the Equator. It marks the southernmost latitude where the sun can stay continuously below or above the horizon for 24 hours – these phenomena are known as the Midnight Sun
in the summer and the Polar Night (“Kaamos”) in the winter. In Rovaniemi, the Arctic Circle runs through Santa Claus Village, located eight kilometers north of the city centre, where it is clearly marked. Santa Claus Village in Lapland is a popular place to cross the Arctic Circle: here the line is marked, and you can even get a certificate confirming the feat.
Overnight in Rovaniemi.
Enjoy your breakfast and a leisure morning at your hotel before getting ready for husky sleigh safari in Lapland frozen forest. You will be picked up from your hotel in the late morning for 3 hour husky safari program. Get away from the city and enjoy the magical forests of the Lappish wilderness, while driving your own dog-team. The sound of the panting huskies and the snow underneath your sled is the perfect soundtrack for this adventure. During the tour you will drive your own team of dogs. This is our most popular safari and a genuine way to experience the thrill of running a dog-team. There is always some time to spend with huskies after the safari, learn some interesting fact about sled dogs and definitely make some nice photos for your memories to take back home. We have nice warm yurt waiting for you after the safari to enjoy stories and hot berry juice.
In the evening you will go for Northern Light Safari 3 hrs. excursion by car and by foot. We will take you out at the prime time of Auroras, as they are said to be visible most likely at the hours around 21:00 and midnight. For sure you have been wondering what the Auroras are and how come they are visible only in the north. Tonight, you will get the answers to all these questions! While you are enjoying your time in the pure nature, our guide is preparing some snacks and hot drinks for you at our outside camp.

Tour is available on 16 languages via audio guide application and includes 11 min movie in icebreaker cinema about icebreakers all over the world. You can relax in the cozy saloon, enjoying warm juice or go for walk on the frozen sea ice during the stop. The icebreaker makes a pool free of ice and every visitor can take a swim in the dark icy water in flotation survival suit. The captain will present Cruise & Swim Certificate to everyone as a memorable gift.
Lunch is served onboard. Later in the afternoon transfer back to Rovaniemi.
Enjoy your breakfast and a leisure morning at your hotel before getting ready for snowmobile safari. After your pickup, we are heading to our own destination in Olleronvaara (around 10 km from the city) were you can get the taste of the wilderness and real beauty of our nature.
