Itinerary
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a short trekking option in the Annapurna Region that allows you to explore the north-western acreages of Pokhara. It is a stunning trekking trail and the beauty of its views is utterly mesmerizing. You will be able to observe the settlements of the Gurung and Magar people with their many temples and monasteries. The pious atmosphere of the religious sites will add a unique tranquility to the serene trekking trails.
Moreover, the intricate sub-tropical valleys at the base of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre mountain ranges are fascinating and very picturesque. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek will take you through verdant hills and terrains and you will experience the delight of blooming rhododendrons and foxgloves, and the spectacular vegetation of pine, oak, birch and juniper trees. The hiking journey is sometimes referred also as the Annapurna Panorama Trek because of the panoramic vistas of the Annapurna ranges and its many surrounding peaks. The most famous and unrivalled section of the route is the absolutely breath-taking view of the rising sun from the vantage point at Poon Hill. Here, as the sun ascends the cyan sky, the change in the atmosphere and the breathing of life into all around is simply indescribable. The slow ascent of the sun from behind the Annapurna ranges transforms the ivory snow into molten gold and burning saffron – it is truly heavenly and divine.
Driving to the lake-side city of Pokhara from Kathmandu, the Poon Hill Trek begins by passing through terraced farms brimming with rice and mustard, rural settlements in isolated areas and amazing views of the Mountain peaks including Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Lamjung Himal. You will then journey through the opulent forests of blooming rhododendrons until you reach Ghorepani.
Trek to Ghorepani and Poon Hill viewpoint provides beautiful panoramic views of the mountains of Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri, Annapurna Massif, Machhapuchhre and many more. The hike to Ghandruk village, however, is one of the most exciting aspects of the journey. Ghandruk is a delightful village occupied by the settlements of the Gurung people. The village offers stunning views of the vistas of the Annapurna Massif and its many surrounding peaks. You can also visit the traditional Gurung Museum and examine the local traditional outfits and cultural trinkets that the museum holds.
Escape Himalaya Trek provides an excellent array of services to its clients and we ensure that they get the optimum satisfaction on their trekking journeys. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek package is designed carefully, keeping the satisfaction of our customers in mind. The package incorporates all of the beautiful natural and cultural quintessence of the Annapurna Region in a relatively short amount of time.
