Arrival and Pickup at Entebbe International Airport

Our representative will meet you at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the guest house in Entebbe. If time permits, join us to explore Entebbe town and visit the Botanical Gardens. Dinner and overnight at ViaVia Guest House or a similar budget hotel.

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Our driver-guide will pick you up at the Entebbe guest house at 8:00 am and drive northwestwards to Murchison Falls National Park. There is a planned 2-hour stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rhino sighting. Rhinos became extinct in Uganda in the early 1980s, and the Ziwa site is being used as a breeding site for the black and white Rhino. After the Rhino trek, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp or a similar budget lodge.

Game Drives and Boat Trip at Murchison Falls National Park

You will go for a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and other wildlife in the morning (note that all mentioned wildlife is not 100% guaranteed to be seen). In the afternoon, you will take a relaxing boat trip on the River Nile, and here you will have a chance to see crocodiles, hippos, and a range of rare birds. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp or a similar budget lodge.

Visit the Top of the Murchison Falls and Transfer to Kibale National Park

This trip will take you to upper Murchison Falls National Park, where you have spectacular views of Murchison Falls along the Nile River.  After the Top of the Murchison Falls visit, drive you to Kibale National Park. The drive to Kibale National Park will go through western Uganda's major cities, including Hoima, Kyenjojo, and Fort Portal. There will be a scheduled stopover for lunch along the way. Dinner and overnight at Kibale National Park (Kibale Forest Lodge or a similar budget lodge)

Chimpanzee Trekking at Kibale National Park

The day will start with an early morning breakfast followed by a short drive to the Kanuanchu gate of Kibale National Park. From here, you will join a short briefing about the chimp trek, and after start the walk into the Kibale forest to trek the chimpanzees in their forest home. You may encounter other species of monkeys in the Kibale forest. These include colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys. An optional community tour in the Bigodi Community is scheduled in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Kibale National Park (Kibale Forest Lodge or a similar budget lodge)

Explore the Fort Portal Crater Lakes & Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer from Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park will go through the spectacular Fort Portal crater lakes. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Elizabeth National Park (Engiri Game Lodge or a similar budget lodge)

Kasenyi Plains Game Drives and Boat Trip at Queen Elizabeth National Park

Kasenyi Plains Game Drive: You will start the day with an early breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various wild animals. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine Rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks. While spotting the "Big Five" in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may site leopards to make it to the "Big Four." 


Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise. After lunch, join the Kazinga channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and bird species on the channel waters.

Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Elizabeth National Park (Engiri Game Lodge or a similar budget lodge)

Optional Lion Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

We will start the journey in the morning from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi National Park. The journey will take you through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda. You will arrive at Bwindi National Park in the late afternoon. On this day, there is an optional "Lion Tracking" activity (posts an extra $100) where the search for lions in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park has a higher chance of seeing lions. After the optional game drives, we will drive to Bwindi National Park. Dinner and overnight at Karungi Camp or a similar budget lodge

Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi National Park

You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The briefing will be conducted by the national park guide and will cover the basics of what to expect during the trek. It is at this point that you will be told which gorilla family to trek. You will likely be joined by other visitors. The gorilla trek can take from a few to many hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. After the gorilla trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest. Dinner and overnight at Karungi Camp or a similar budget lodge

Golden Monkey Trek or Community Experience & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

On this day, you will have various options—no need to decide on which activity for now. You can discuss the activity of interest with your guide. The choices include;

1. Golden Monkeys in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. This trip will take you to trek the golden monkeys, an endemic species of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda. You will enter the forest and walk through the bamboo vegetation and various indigenous plants like giant lobelia. During the trip, your national park guide will tell you about the history of the national park and the fauna and flora that the park holds. The golden monkey trek should take about 5 hours. 

2. Coffee Making Experience. The coffee tour takes place near Kisoro town. On this tour, you will experience how local farmers plant, harvest, and roast coffee.

3. Canoe Trekking at Lake Mutanda. The canoe trek safari can be done at Lake Mutanda near Kisoro town.

4. Batwa Trail Experience. This a 5-hour experience in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park that explores the history and culture of the Batwa Indegnous community.

After the morning activity, drive for 3hrs to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight.

Spend the day at Lake Bunyonyi. Activities at Lake Bunyonyi include canoeing, swimming, and bird watching. Plus relaxation. Dinner & overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Resort or a similar budget lodge.

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for Evening Game Drive

Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park. The planned activity at Lake Mburo is the evening or night game drive to spot additional wildlife. Dinner & overnight at Rwakobo Rock, Lake Mburo National Park (Hyena Hill Lodge or a similar budget lodge)

Early Game Drives at Lake Mburo National Park & Transfer to Entebbe via the Equator

We will travel from Lake Mburo National Park to Entebbe on this day. Before leaving for Entebbe, take an early morning game drive at Lake Mburo. Or consider an optional activity such as horse riding. On the way to Entebbe, stop at the Equator Line crossing to visit handicraft shops and grab coffee as needed. Dinner & overnight at ViaVia Entebbe or a similar budget hotel.

Mabamba Shoebill Tour & Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

On this day, join the Mabamba Shoebill Tour before driving to Entebbe International Airport. The Mabamba wetland, located west of Entebbe, is one of the best and most convenient places to encounter the elusive shoebill and a prime birding site. After the Mabamba trek, you will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport & depart to your next destination.

Please make sure to read the following terms and conditions set by Bamboo Ecotours regarding our safari services. It is entirely upon the client to read and understand these terms and conditions before finalizing a safari with Bamboo Ecotours. We welcome questions in case there is anything that needs further clarification.

1) Proposed Itinerary: Upon receiving an inquiry, Bamboo Ecotours will propose activities and lodging options for the safari. All proposed activities and places for accommodation are not considered final until the trip is paid for and confirmed by both the client and Bamboo Ecotours in writing.

2) Tour Inclusion: All tours specify what is included in the itinerary at the point the tour is confirmed between Bamboo Ecotours and the client. Bamboo Ecotours will work with the client to arrange activities, transport, park entrance fees, guides, lodging, and meals as requested by the client. Bamboo Ecotours is in no way obliged to cover any expenses not included in the agreed itinerary with the client.

3) Tour Exclusion: Bamboo Ecotours trips do not cover international flights, travel medical expenses, visa fees, drinks of any kind, gifts, tips, and other costs not included in the trip itinerary.

4) Pricing Policy: The quotation and terms there in agreed by Bamboo Ecotours and the client are final. However, when booking is in advance for gorilla permits and suddenly there comes a statutory raise in gorilla permit trekking fees, Bamboo Ecotours deserves the right to revise, change or alter the agreed tour quotation and itinerary to cover for the changes in trekking rates.

5) Gorilla tracking permits: Gorilla trekking permits are a property of the national park management and are subject to availability. Bamboo Ecotours can only guarantee availability of trekking permits after a trip inquiry is submitted. We encourage all prospective clients to make reservation for trekking permits way in advance of trekking. A 100% full payment for gorilla permits is mandatory when booking at least three months to tracking date. Gorilla trekking permit fees are 100% non-refundable but may be transferrable in very rare circumstances.

6) Cancellation Policy: Requests for cancellation (excluding gorilla permits) must be raised in writing. Bamboo Ecotours reserves the right not to honor any cancellation request not issued in writing. When cancellation is effected 25-35 days prior to the trip, a 50% charge will apply, 75% will be charged on cancellations effected within 2-25 days, and no refund will be issued with cancellation of 48 hours or less. Bamboo Ecotours reserves the right to deduct all processing fees and bank dues before a cancellation is finalized. For cancellation of gorilla permits, refer to policy #4 above.

7) Invoices and payments: Once the client has determined to purchase a tour and agreed with Bamboo Ecotours on the final rates, an invoice will be issued to the client and a payment should be scheduled in accordance with the terms stipulated in the invoice. Once the payment is received by Bamboo Ecotours, a confirmation of receipt shall be shared with the client.

8) Accommodation: Bamboo Ecotours will reserve accommodation as agreed upon with the client. However, accommodation is subject to availability especially around national parks. Bamboo Ecotours reserves the right to book accommodation within any distance to the tour activity point as long as the distance does not impede the client to enjoy the benefits of the tour. Bamboo Ecotours normally serves clients interested in budget and mid-range accommodation options. Clients interested in luxury accommodation should expect higher rates for tours.
