Today's early start is a must as the sunrise at Mount Nemrut will take your breath away. We will depart from the hotel and journey to the summit of Mt Nemrut, there is about a 25-minute walk on the last leg of the climb to get there. Once there you will witness a beautiful sunrise but you will not be alone as the gigantic statue heads of kings and gods will be beside you, Your tour guide will tell you all you need to know about the people that once lived in the Commagene Kingdom and the statues after we will visit the ruins of the Arsemia Roman bridge of Cendere and Tumulus Tomb of Karakus then return to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, your next destination is Sanliurfa, Harran and the Ataturk Dam, a mighty structure and a feat of engineering. We will then check-in to our Accommodation in Sanliurfa, its here we will have our lunch.
Abraham's Cave and the Pools of Holy Carp are where we will start our afternoon. We will then visit the colourful oriental bazaar.
Turkey is full of both many treasures and many suprises and the village of ’Harran’with its ancient mud "beehive" houses, mentioned in the book of Genesis is both, it is said that Abraham spent the last years of his life here.
Also in Harran you will see the ancient city walls, the oldest Islamic university and an 18th century castle.
