Itinerary

We invite you to Explore the Garden Route. Join our awesome private / small group tour with overnight stays in Knysna and Oudtshoorn situated along Route 62.

Drive the famous Route 62. Experience the spectacular Cango Caves and the comical Ostrich. View seals, whales and marine bird-life in Mossel Bay. Stroll along pristine beaches with no other footprints – only the endangered Oystercatcher. Visit ancient forests where elusive wild elephants and leopards lurk in the shadows. See Giant Yellowwood trees at Natures Valley. Drive through the Cape Floral Kingdom of Fynbos and Proteas.

Take a boat cruise to the stunning Knysna Heads and delight in the shopping and fine culinary foods at the Knysna Waterfront. Taste oysters and some of the regions finest wines, craft beers and fresh juices.

The tour is conducted by an experienced chauffeur driver/ guide / host who will remain with you throughout the tour. Luxury accommodation is in four star Guest Houses, Lodges or Apartments and includes daily breakfasts. Also included are some Lunches and entry fees to Activities / Attractions as per itinerary. A minimum of 2 adults is required for this tour to take place.

Day 1

Cape Town to Oudtshoorn via Route 62

This Tour starts in Cape Town at your City Hotel. The Tour ends in George. From George you have the option on reaching your next destination by Air, Luxury Coach or Private Road Transfer. Guests leave Cape Town at 08h30 and travel through some of the wine-producing valleys of the Winelands. Each valley is graced with great scenic beauty.

Finding our way into the unique Klein Karoo by way of the superb Cogmanskloof Pass, we travel the Route 62 passing through a string of picturesque small towns set in this uniquely beautiful scenery.

Enjoy lunch and wine tasting at Die Krans in Calitzdorp, an internationally renowned award winning Wine Estate.

We arrive in the town of Oudtshoorn, undisputed "ostrich capital" of the world. Our itinerary includes a visit to a fascinating Ostrich Show Farm where flocks of these strange birds are kept. We are shown their development from the egg to the 100 kg adult.

Overnight in Oudtshoorn in a 4 star Guest House.

Day 2

Oudtshoorn to Knysna via the Montagu Pass

The day begins with the Cango Caves Tour. Visit one of the great wonders of Africa - the subterranean wonderland of Cango Caves for a tour of this vast sequence of caverns, each filled with astonishing formations of glittering dripstones.

After lunch we head over the Outeniqua Pass to Knysna. En Route we stop at the Wilderness for an optional Craft Beer or Gin tasting. We arrive in Knysna in the late afternoon.

Enjoy an Optional Cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. There is a choice between Yachts, Ferries and Cruisers. Dinner at the Knysna Quays. Overnight in Knysna.

Overnight at the Knysna Waterfront Villas or a 4 star Guest House.

Day 3

Visit Tsitsikamma National Park, Natures Valley and Plettenberg Bay

Today we drive to The Tsitsikamma National Park. We visit Plettenberg Bay and try to spot the local dolphins at play. Visit Natures Valley and take a walk along one of the most pristine beaches in South Africa. View ancient giant Yellowwood trees. Enjoy a fresh Seafood lunch at Plettenberg Bay Beach

Tours include: Tenikwa Wildlife Center. In the late afternoon we return to Knysna. Free for Dinner.

Day 4

Visit Mossel Bay & George

After breakfast we head down to Mossel Bay. Enjoy an optional boat ride out to Seal Island to view Seals, Whales and sometimes the Great White Shark. We also explore the Diaz Museum. After an opportunity to do some last minute shopping guests can enjoy lunch at the seaside.

We drop off our guests in the early afternoon at George where the tour ends. Guest have the option of reaching their next destination by Air, Coach or Road Transfer.

This tour can begin in George and end in Cape Town with slight changes to the itinerary.
