Rising majestically from the jungle, this massive rock once housed the palace of King Kasyapa (477–495 AD). In the afternoon, get ready for an exciting 4x4 jeep safari through either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. The choice depends on where the elephants are migrating to ensure you have the best views.

These lush parks cover over 8,800 hectares and are known for being home to one of the largest gatherings of wild Asian elephants in the world. After breakfast, you will visit the impressive Royal Cave Temple complex in Dambulla, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and a key part of Sri Lankan Buddhism. 

This towering rock rises 160 meters above the plains and holds five beautifully decorated cave temples. Inside, you will find over 150 Buddha statues and intricate ceiling murals that are more than 2,000 years old. After breakfast, you’ll head to Nanu-Oya railway station to board the train to Ella. This ride is known as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world.

As the train winds through rolling tea estates, misty forests, waterfalls, and old colonial bridges, keep your camera ready; every turn reveals another postcard-perfect view. We’ll arrange your tickets at the station. Seat class is subject to availability, but the scenery is amazing throughout the ride.

Afterwards, you will visit the lovely village of Ella, a relaxed hill town surrounded by dramatic mountains and lush tea plantations. You can wander through streets lined with cozy cafés, enjoy panoramic views from Ella Gap, or prepare for tomorrow’s adventure to iconic spots like Nine Arches Bridge or Little Adam’s Peak. Waterfalls & Wilderness: On the Way to Yala

As the landscape changes from cool hills to sunny savannah, you’ll arrive at the edge of Yala National Park, where nature takes center stage.

Get ready for an exciting 4x4 jeep safari in Yala. The park is famous for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. A winding river splits it into two parts, each full of life.
