Trek in the popular Annapurna region and Tilicho Lake, tour heritage sites and cross mountain pass. This trek is breathtaking journey along the famous Annapurna region and Tilicho Lake (4949-meter), one of the highest lakes in the world.
The trail cuts through varied elevations, and has climates ranging from semi-tropical to desert. With the landscapes varying from sub-tropical to alpine forests to snowy barren, to the stunning rocky Thorongla mountain pass with an altitude of 5416 meters.
Trip begins in Kathmandu with visits to several cultural heritage sites. Then drive to Chamje and begin journey from Dharapani.
The trek concludes in Jomson after which will fly to Pokhara, followed by another flight to Kathmandu. It is the best trek for trekkers who not just willing to walk on the Annapurna circle trail but also reach the serene Tilicho Lake.
Upon arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from Serene Himalaya who will drop you off at our hotel. After check-in, take a rest or stroll around the streets of Thamel, a famous tourist hub in Kathmandu for some souvenir shopping. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Serene Himalaya where you will be served with delicious authentic Nepalese cuisine.

After breakfast, start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath) which is one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, there will be a pre-trip discussion to meet our trek leader and other team members. Serene Himalaya will briefs on the trek and do ask questions regarding your adventure. Starting the day early would be a good. Will travel by road from Kathmandu to Chamje village which will be the starting point. Chamje is a small village in the Annapurna Region at an elevation of 1430-meter. There is a waterfall which is an attraction for both locals and tourists. Beautiful greenery around will energize us for the trek ahead. Overnight in Chamje.

Begin trek early morning where the trail takes us through various vegetable plantations, waterfalls and mixed communities that are believed to have migrated from Tibet. After crossing the suspension bridge below Chamje and climbing two steep sections, will reach the village of Tal. From Tal, enter the Manang district. On the way will also pass through Kodo village and walk on the trail that rises and falls and cuts across a mountain side to one of the biggest villages in the Manang District, Dharapani. Overnight in Dharapani.

Today we walk a few steep, forested ridges along with several landslides on route to Chame. Should not forget to look up though, as you will be greeted with remarkable views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7525-meter). Also come across small hot springs which will be a good place to relax for a while from the tiring trek. Chame is the headquarters of Manang District in the Gandaki Zone of northern Nepal. Overnight in Chame.

Today the trail continues up and down, passing several rivers and sparsely populated settlements. Walk through a steep and narrow valley to have the first view of Paungda Danda rock face, a dramatic curved rock face rising 1500-meter from the river. From here, don’t miss the opportunity to gain excellent views of Annapurna 2 to the south and Pisang Peak to the north east. Descend to the Manang Valley while enjoying the captivating landscape. Overnight in Pisang.

From Pisang, there are two routes to Manang. Choose the one which passes through Upper Pisang via Geru as it offers outstanding views of Mount Annapurna, Pisang Peak, and others. Nearing Manang, the climate becomes colder and drier. However, a short visit to Barge Monastery, the biggest monastery in the Manang District, should boost us up. Overnight in Manang.

After breakfast, continues trek up to the village of Khangsar. As we walk ahead, the trail cuts down through a gorge and the Tilicho Peak can be spotted shrouded in clouds far above. You can captivated with the natural beauty of the Annapurna range all along the way. Also pass through small scenic settlements and the Tore monastery to enjoy the breathtaking Khangsar River and the grand barrier before reaching Khangsar. Overnight in Khangsar.

As we begin the trek from Kangsar to Tilicho Lake Base Camp, we come across wide grassy fields and, after making a slight climb up a small hill, witness the glorious views of the entire valley. After trudging down a steep inclination, you now enter the Tilicho Base Camp. Camping is the only option as there are not many lodges out here. Overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.

After the initial tough ascent, trail traverses onto a moraine and then cuts along the side of the mountain. However, the spectacular views of Tilicho, Nilgiri, Khangsar and Muktinath peaks are always close by to boost us up. Upon reaching, one of the highest lakes in the world, we get to admire its tranquil beauty. Sometimes reflections of the surrounding peaks are seen on its turquoise waters, at other times the lake remains frozen. Take a break beside the calm waters and soak-in the astounding views before heading back to the base camp. Overnight in Tilicho Base Camp.

When returning from Tilicho Base Camp, the trail leads out of the Marsyangdi valley and the abrupt change in surroundings can be noticed as the trees are left behind and replaced with more alpine vegetation. Journey continues through the ruins of the old Khangsar village, until we cross a log bridge over the river between Gumsang and Yak Kharka. The typical Himalayan village of Yak Kharka is an accolade to its name, where you can see yaks grazing and standing around. From here there is also a breathtaking views of Annapurna III. Overnight in Yak Kharka.

Uphill walk to Thorang Phedi and after some time, will cross a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village. Ascend further and pass through towering cliffs before reaching Thorang Phedi, the last village before Thorong La pass. During this, you will rewarded with one of the best views of Mount Gundang, Mount Syagang, Thorung Peak and Mount Khatungkan. The meaning of Phedi in Nepalese is “the foot of a mountain”. Overnight in Thorang Phedi.

Crossing Thorong La pass, one of the highest passes in the world, will be our ultimate objective today. Crossing the pass from east to west (Manang to Muktinath) which is the easiest and safest direction. Wake up around three in the morning and walk up the mountain. When finally make it to the top, we realize that our journey worthwhile. Don’t forget to take a few photos before heading to Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La pass. Overnight in Muktinath.

Muktinath, an ultimate destination for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, is a amazing place. Visit the Muktinath Temple before embarking on the trek ahead. There are water spouts where fresh water pours out from the streams above the temple. As the trail extends, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Mount Dhaulagiri. You can even buy a fossilized mollusk, called ‘Shaligram’ as souvenir. Move ahead among meadows, cross streams and hills over to Kagbeni, a village laden with chortens (memorial stupas) and a small monastery. Continue journey after lunch break at Kagbeni and over to Jomsom on the Kali Gandaki Valley as the trail cuts through windy areas. Overnight in Jomsom.

Fly to Pokhara after breakfast. During the flight is spectacular where you will looking at views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and over the deepest gorge in the world. The warmer climate in Pokhara will definitely make you feel better. We can take a boat ride in the serene waters of the lake with the reflection of the Fishtail Mountain on its waters. Or could also visit the Davis falls. In the evening, you can stroll around the lakeside area and buy souvenirs for friends and family. Overnight in Pokhara.

Another short flight takes you back to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Take a rest in our hotel room and spend the rest of day in leisure. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Alpine Club of Himalaya to celebrate the successful completion of your journey. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Our representative will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your next flight approximately 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Have a safe journey home and there is time to plan for another adventure in Nepal.

Terms and Condition
1. HOW TO BOOK:
Your contract will be with Serene Himalaya Treks and expedition. To book any of our trips, please send the completed booking form along with the copy of your passport and 20% of the total amount as a non refundable booking deposit per person per trip.
2. PAYMENT:
The balance of the trip price is payable on your arrival in Nepal/Tibet/Bhutan/India. If final payment is not received 2 days after your arrival, cancellation conditions will apply as per the clause below. Final trip documentation will be released upon full trip payment.
3. TRIP AMENDMENTS/TRANSFERS:
AMENDMENT: If you wish to make amendments to your trip arrangements, you must notify SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION in writing. Each amendment to your trip arrangements will incur a $30 administration fee and you will be liable for any increase in airfares or operational expenses occasioned by the amendment.
TRANSFER: If you wish to transfer from one tour to another, you must notify SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION in writing. Once SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION receives your notice the transfer will take effect and the following transfer charges will apply:
If your notice is received more than 60 days prior to your original departure date, a $100 transfer fee will apply. In addition, any increase in airfares or operational services will be payable by you: or
If your notice is received within 60 days prior to your original departure date, charges will be as per cancellation clause.
It may not be possible to make any transfers of the bookings within 10 days of departure. Fees for the late changes will vary from a minimum of USD 50 and above per booking, if the changes can be made.
4. CANCELLATIONS:
If you wish to cancel your tour, you must notify Serene Himalaya Treks and Expedition
in writing. Once Serene Himalaya Treks and Expedition
receives your notice, cancellation will take effect subject to the following:
If cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date, your full deposit will be forfeited.
If cancellation takes place between 60 and 7 days prior to your departure date, 50% of the tour price will be forfeited.
If cancellation takes place less than 7 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited.
No refunds are made if you voluntarily leave a trip for any reason after the trip starts and refunds will be at the discretion of SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION if you are involuntarily forced to leave a trip for any reason. No refunds will be made for accommodation, transport, sightseeing, meals or any services not used
5. CANCELLATION DUE TO TRIP BOOKING NUMBERS:
Serene Himalaya Treks and Expedition
reserves the right to cancel any trip before it is guaranteed to run. A trip is guaranteed to run once it has two fully paid travelers, unless minimum number stated otherwise. In this case you are entitled to take an alternative trip of the same value without charge or you will be given a full refund of the trip price paid by you. You will not be entitled to claim any additional amounts or seek any compensation for any injury, loss, expenses or damage or for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from such cancellation. A trip is guaranteed to run once it has two fully paid travelers, unless minimum number stated otherwise.
6. ROUTE CHANGES, POSTPONEMENT, CANCELLATION OR DELAY:
SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION reserves the right to change the route, postpone, cancel or delay the trip due to reasons beyond its control such as natural disasters, flight cancellations, strikes, wars, riots, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions etc. In this case SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION will refund the trip price only.
If cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date, your full deposit will be forfeited.
If cancellation takes place between 60 and 7 days prior to your departure date, 50% of the tour price will be forfeited.
If cancellation takes place less than 7 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited.
7. INSURANCE:
It is a condition of booking a trip with SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION. Your insurance must include cover for; medical expenses, injury, death, loss of baggage and personal items and cancellation and curtailment, cost of repatriation and evacuation via whatever means necessary including by helicopter/air ambulance. If, in the event of an emergency medical rescue or evacuation from a trip of you the client, either by foot, helicopter or otherwise the responsibility for the payment of such costs will lie with the client. Any subsequent costs incurred for expenses such as hotels, food, transport etc shall be borne by the client. You must ensure that your insurance covers all of the activities you expect to participate in your trip. You must provide evidence to SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION upon your arrival. If you cannot provide the evidence of insurance you will be required to take out a suitable policy at that time. If you are not insured for any reason, you will not be allowed to continue with your trip and will not be entitled to any refund for services not provided.
8. PASSPORTS, VISAS AND IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS:
Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. Please ensure your passport is valid for 6 months beyond the duration of the trip. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements. In some cases, full and correct passport information is required when a booking is submitted to us in order that we can obtain necessary tickets, permits and visas on your behalf. If you do not supply the appropriate and correct information when you make your booking, we will not be able to make the necessary bookings on your behalf and cannot be held responsible.
9. RESPONSIBILITY:
Your booking is accepted on the understanding that you realise and accept the risks and hazards potentially involved in adventure holidays and that you are mentally and physically capable of undertaking your chosen trip. You must tell us if you have an existing medical condition or disability that might affect your holiday or other group members enjoyment of it, before you book your holiday. If, in our reasonable opinion, your chosen holiday is not suitable for your medical condition or disability we reserve the right to refuse your booking. We reserve the right to cancel the contract if medical problems are discovered and, in this eventuality, we will give a full refund but no compensation. You are responsible for bringing with you the proper clothing and equipment, which we advise you about in our trip information.
10. HEALTH & PHYSICAL FITNESS:
Trips take place in remote areas where there is little or no access to normal medical services or hospital facilities for serious problems. Evacuation, where necessary, can be prolonged, difficult and expensive. Medical and evacuation expenses will be your responsibility. SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION reserves the right in its absolute discretion to refuse a participant the right to participate in a tour on medical or fitness grounds.
11. TRIP LEADER:
SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION nominated trip leaders take their responsibilities seriously and if for any reason a nominated tour leader believes, in his or her absolute discretion, that you should not participate in the tour, before your departure, he/she may exclude you from the tour. In this event, you will be offered the option of taking another tour considered suitable for you or a full refund. If for any reason during a tour the nominated tour leader considers you should not participate further due to you committing an illegal act, or in the opinion of the nominated tour leader, your behaviour is causing or is likely to cause danger, distress or annoyance to others, or your fitness or health is inadequate, he or she may direct you not to continue and you must follow the nominated trip leader's instructions. In this case you will not be entitled to any refund.
12. JURISDICTION:
No employee, representative or agent of SERENE HIMALAYA TREKS AND EXPEDITION other than Company Head or Directors to vary these conditions. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Nepal Government.
13. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT:
If you have a problem during your holiday, you must inform your trip leader who will endeavour to put things right.
14. PROMOTIONAL IMAGES:
Any likeness or image of you secured or taken on any of our trips may be used by the company without charge in all media (whether now existing or in the invented) for bona fide promotional materials of any kind, such as brochures, website slides, video shows and the internet.
