Journey to London

After your arrival at London Heathrow Airport between 10:30 and 13:00, it's time to go! Today's destination is Bristol. 170 km (A)
First we pay a visit to Bath, the elegant English spa town. Thanks to its preserved originality, Bath has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Wells, we immerse ourselves in the fantastic world of Harry Potter. Vicar's Close, one of the oldest streets with residential buildings from the 14th century, is a listed building. On the way to Newquay we stop at the Jamaica Inn pub, the setting of Daphne du Maurier's novel. 290 km (F, A)
Today is one of the highlights of the trip, especially for garden lovers. First we visit the original restored Lost Gardens of Heligan. As we walk through these gardens, we see exotic plants from all over the world. In the afternoon we visit Lanhydrock House. The magnificent 16th century country house, modernized in Victorian times, is nestled in 300 hectares of wooded parkland. 110 km (F, A)
Today we first visit the monastery fortress of St. Michael's Mount, which is located on an island and can only be reached by boat at high tide. We then visit Land's End, the most westerly point in England. This stretch of coastline has a unique wild beauty: steep cliffs, roaring waves, ferns, yellow gorse and bright erica bushes. From Land's End, we may even catch a glimpse of the Scilly Islands on the horizon! We continue on to the small fishing village of St. Ives. This artists' town with its miles of beaches, subtropical plants and palm trees has often served as the setting for well-known German novel adaptations. After a walk together through the charming old town, we drive to our hotel for the next two nights. 210 km (F)
Your free day in Plymouth. Enjoy your free day or join your tour guide on an optional day trip to Tintagel and Clovelly. King Arthur is said to have lived in Tintagel in legendary times. We visit the castle ruins, which are perched high up on two steep cliffs above the foaming sea. Our next stop is the beautifully situated fishing village of Boscastle, right on the Cornish coast. Continuing along the breathtaking coastline, we reach Clovelly. The listed fishing village is situated on a slope that drops almost vertically into the sea. Here it's time for a well-earned cream tea. Freshly fortified, we take a tour of the picturesque village. 220 km (F)
Today takes us through the vast, eerie landscape of Dartmoor National Park. In Exeter, we visit the magnificent English Gothic cathedral ─ one of the most beautiful in the country. In Wells, we already had the opportunity to see one of the astronomical clocks, which are quite numerous here in the west of England. In Exeter Cathedral, we now see another example of this elaborate 15th century clock art. 230 km (F, A)
A cultural highlight awaits us in the morning: Stonehenge! The immense achievement of its builders leaves every observer with the question of "why" ─ and this mystery is probably what makes this place so fascinating. Stonehenge has always seemed to have an astronomical significance, because if you stand inside, the sun rises exactly above the Heel Stone and the processional avenue on the summer solstice on June 21. This Stone Age building was used until at least the Bronze Age and then fell into oblivion. This mystical place provides the conclusion to our trip and we then drive to London Heathrow Airport and you fly back home between 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm. 130 km (F) Flight schedule, hotel and program are subject to change. (F=breakfast, A=dinner)
